Oh ik, myself included, tbh im already most of the way through the tree, and the heavy cruisers are why i don’t think japan struggles
Everything up to 6.7-7.0 is just a pain for Japan. IMHO.

I disagree but im not gonna argue it, its opinion at the end of the day, i just dont feel japan needs another top tier capital ship for a while since they have 7 including event stuff

Check when they were designed, 1916, 1916, 1910, 1911, 1917… Bismarck was 1935. All these refits add is AA and torpedo bulges, which Bismarck has built-in.
Blatantly false. German ships at the end of WW1 were comparable in displacement to all the equivalents. Also, Germany ignored the treaties on size restriction as part of the WNT. Bismarck was 51k tonnes, KGV was 38K, NoCal was ~42K.
Yeah, no. These are all worse ships IRL other than Rodney refitted Nagato is better but we don’t have a refitted Nagato. And in WT Rodney loses as Bismarck has a 20 second reload, Rodney’s is 35 seconds. Bismarck also has a turtleback, which Gaijin cannot model properly, rather than checking if a round has the penetration to go through, the algorithm first checks if the ricochet angle is too high. This is not how battleship shells work, they have so much kinetic energy that they pretty much cannot ricochet, instead they brute force their way into remolding the plate and then use the increased obliquity to then penetrate through.
These are their own class of supership that only Japan and the USA possessed IRL due to Treaty breaking. The UK sorta has half-equivalents and the Soviets have the Sovetsky Soyuz which will either be broken or the worst ship you’ll ever see (as it was IRL). But there’s a reason they haven’t been added yet.

It was the singular most broken vehicle br for br in the game for 3 years straight. Not even the BI is as broken as Scharnhorst was and now it’s still very good compared to many other top tiers. It’s a perfectly valid argument when Gaijin had to go and backfill the German tree with actually balanced options like Baden, Bayern, Sachsen, Ersatz Yorck and there’s still Ersatz Mackensen left to add also.

Personally, I expect to see it perhaps just before the KGV and NoCal, though I can see the NoCal coming first because the US Standards are not particularly good designs and it is very much apparent in WT.

Yeah but there’s nothing to add before the good ships, the only class Japan has left to add is the Tosa’s and then the Yamato come along. Generally across destroyers and cruisers Japan has most of their competitive options. I know the Takao class is missing but iirc it doesn’t really bring anything above what Japan already has.
Literally no, because Japan has the 2 best (maybe 2 of the best but Amagi is definitely no.1) ship classes at top tier right now. Japan getting Tosa would upset that even worse, Amagi’s armour is already as strong as Hoods, now make it 1.5" thicker…

Agree however the American DD’s all need shifting up, and the UK one’s are only just debatably balanced being straight up worse than the US one’s br for br, but still edging out ahead of the competition.
For the one’s that its relevant to, they should receive these. But also it highlights a bigger issue with antifrag overperformance.

I wonder if the Anti Submarine Shell could be added for the 12.7cm japanese naval guns to increase their DMG output at close range (these shells only travel around 250m/s :D but have a higher explosiv filler) and against Subs of course when they arrive

Its really in my opinion the bad damage model of HE vs U.S anti fragmentation armor its way too resilient IRL Japanese HE shells had no issue dealing damage to U.S destroyers.

Well an option is low tier night battles for RB and possibly AB where spotting ranges are much much shorter and torpedos are actually useful. But IRL doctrines arent exactly a priority, i mean look at British bombers in broad daylight unescorted
