Next Major Update - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion

The first 5th generation fighter aircraft, and pure air superiority fighter

Without AIM-9X (Blk 1) and JHMCS, and zero Air-to-Ground munitions

Block 30/35 or Block 40, or MLU ?

F-35B early (Block 2B)

11 nations in war thunder

Isnt FC-31 and J-35 the same? FC-31 being the designation used by the Manufacturer while it was a private venture and J-35 the PLA designation once they became interested.

Ngl I really hope Turkey be a sub for Germany, mailny due to Modern stuff like these would really help

I suppose gajin might add F-35A & F-35B from USAF, USMC and JASDF before RN, RAAF, DEU, FiAF, RNLAF, RNoAF, MM and RoAF

But F-22A worse F-35 Block 2B

J-20 in 2017 - 2018 with russian engine (AL-31FM2) ?

They will enter service soonish. You cried about lack of diversity and i gave some extra airframes. Im sure theyll eventually get added

Well they could always just add F-35 to US, UK (actually did something in the “multinational” JSF program), and Israel (on account of the F-35I)

That would keep things more varied

I highly doubt that, all nations will get their F35s at the same time look at the F16s or the F15s whenever a new standered came out pretty much everyone that had a variant also got theirs

i doubt it since then they would be intentionally cucking germany, italy and japan and everyone else who wouldnt get theirs

Depends on gaijin and what additions the nations just got. I mean as it stands right now we could see some nations get their F-35’s later if they receive a end of the line fighter an update or 2 before the F-35. It wouldn’t suprise me if gaijin also decides to only add them to the US at the start but i feel its a far less likely outcome then any of the other options ive listed.

FC-31 iirc is a more early variant, as for J-35, it is finished, even flew, however only the J-35A was shown with weapons (well, displayed) around Zhuhai 2024

Germany and Italy have late typhoons, Japan has the F-15 JSI, Sweden wanted Gripen E over F-35 so they can have those, France wanted Rafale’s over the F-35 so they can get more of those

Eh, the YF-22 flew and fired weapons but I would hardly call it a finished aircraft.

Unless you mean J-35 is in service

if the nation has the plane they will get it, that is just how its gonna go

Adding it to US, UK, and Israel only is a solution for lack of variety in future top tier

That depends on if gaijin decides not to give every nation the US treatment and give them their subnation vehicles at the same time. You’re forgetting the money aspect which adding it to all nations means more people are inclined to buy a premium on a nation they have to grind said new vehicle faster.

Who knows gaijin could always pull the AV8B again.

top tier kinda already lacks variety I dont see them really caring about that and just adding it to every tree that could get one anyway

I don’t really see how banning a historical airframe would ever be a good thing. We need more planes not less. All this does is take an option away, not give players more options to choose from.

What I see here is Gaijin leaning more into the unfinished prototype side and adding some of the almost complete designs of the various nations like Japan’s F-X, and likely even more options for the other nations.
Hopefully then they finalize their game’s guidelines for additions, because it’s silly to see rules for player suggestions organized so much better than the actual game…

Weaponry can also help make the F-35s feel more distinct. For example US F-35s (probably besides the B variant used as testbed) wouldn’t get the Meteor, while the British F-35 would get it. Similarly the JNAAM missile based on the Meteor body with new AESA seeker could be the AIM-260 equivalent missile for British and Japanese F-35s. While it was only a prototype, the missile was completed and made for the F-35 that can fit the Meteor now, so it’s a good way to make it more interesting.

Well for some nations denying the F-35 means denying them top tier, for example Japan isn’t making a gen 5 because they rely on F-35s
Not sure that’s a good idea for nations that are already underplayed to remove the kinda grind goal that is top tier

Idk, i doubt we will see stuff like the Saab FS2020 or the F-X, they simply are not feasible to add as they dont exist. Same with the Su-75, maybe in 15 years but for now i believe its very very unlikely they are added.

Not really, Germany could’ve gotten swiss F-18Cs and Italy could’ve gotten spanish F/A-18Cs but they didn’t and I doubt they will now
It’s proof that not all nations systematically get aircrafts they operate(d)
