Respectfully, WW1 and the interwar period is where the game basically recognizes some sort of combined warfare value to that technology. Some countries severely lacked in this period, and others had developments they continued to work on.
Does anyone seriously think that the Swordfish, for example, would’ve been used in WW2 if the British didn’t have something better?
The era gameplay is great for those who want to play it, like you. I think it should exist (more is always better), and locking much of it behind VR is a huge bummer.
That being said, the troll potential is infuriating in top-tier, and I’m just not sure I want to see WW1 modes bleed over into the game.
Hoping you’re still having some fun in spite of your obvious disappointment.
