Which makes it more disappointing that the fighters in the event will just be discarded and kept only for Aces of Thunder.
The key feature for Aces of Thunder should be that it is a proper VR port of War Thunder, not having WW1 to itself.

Sure it’s disappointing, but that’s just part of the April Fools events.
To me it was equally disappointing that we couldn’t keep any of the Mad Thunder vehicles or their special modifications for “regular” WT vehicles. Or that we didn’t get to keep the crew voices as an unlockable option.
It was also disappointing that so far the quadcopter drone from Mobile Infantry didn’t get implemented and that we didn’t get maps based on those used in Mad Thunder, Worm Thunder, Tailspin, etc.

They definitely still can say that a WW1 tank would be too weak. Now they actually can earn vehicles that will show how viable other WW1 tanks would be.

This event is one sided, Germany with A7V have both mobility, reload rate and firepower, OS everything.
The cars are stuck every 2 meters.
Can’t do anything with plane agaisnt zeplin.
And don’t start me on once again France look like a minor nation while it’s god damn WWI. Can’t unlock the French plane, German profil picture, the troops on ground is English (while France holded 75% of the Front in the war), and French crew speack English, of course why not.

I’m sure they will change the crew voices for the reward vehicles. The ones in the event probably all speak English for simplicity reasons and because they use arcade rules for April Fools modes usually.
Nothing is being “rewritten” simply there are a range of vehicles from the allied nations to cover as much of the representation as possible for the event.
It’s not every day we have such an event, so there is no reason to limit it to just 2 nations.
