Well, no, the F/A-18 is not an example…
The F/A-18A is in the TT, and is an earlier model than the F/A-18C Early (prem)
And the F/A-18C Early is missing AIM-120Bs and AIM-9Ms, both of which the F/A-18C Late has.
An F-2A Early premium would more than likely just get AIM-7Ms, and it would be more of a 50/50 on whether it would get AAM-3s or just AIM-9Ls.

I wasn’t saying it should have AMRAAMs. I was pointing out that it simply does not have them while the C Late does. The discussion was about what a F-2A Early would look like, and I was saying it would not be similar to a F-2A Late since the Early would probably just get 9L/7Ms.

I’d say it should get AAM-3s as that would at least let it be somewhat capable with a 4/4 loadout with whatever it faces, but you do make a good point with regards to the 18C early not having 9Ms.
Yeah, on top of that it would keep it at a higher BR where the AESA radar wouldn’t be too scary. AAM-3s, AIM-7Ms, and an AESA radar should be pretty fine at ~13.0. And if it’s a premium it’ll make for a great grinding option.
Yea, that’s something that I find really appealing to play, as opposed to something like the T-2 early or the F-4EJ premium

Python 3s + AIM-9Ms at 12.7?
At the same BR;
- F-16A ADF has AIM-9Ls + AIM-7Ms
- Netz (/Mod) has only Python 3s
At 13.0;
- F-16A (Belgium) has AIM-9M / 9L + Similar A2G
It’d likely be 13.0, but it’d be fun to use Python 3s at longer ranges and AIM-9M at closer ranges.

I know, and the point I was making is that the C Early gets none of the top end missiles that the C Late gets.
The F/A-18C Late gets AIM-120Bs and AIM-9Ms
The F/A-18C Early gets AIM-7Ps and AIM-9Ls.
The F-2A Late will get AAM-4s and AAM-3s.
The F-2A Early will more than likely only get AIM-7Ms and AIM-9Ls, possibly AAM-3s.
