It has superior lock range, superior range, superior IRCCM and counter measure rejection.

I have some trial papers of 9m saying that they were pretty mediocre in flare rejection tests. I think irccm is just too strong for not obly 9m but also probably other missiles. Irl stuff like 9x have been flares while in game we some times struggle flaring them in front aspect
dosent change the fact that the western world got scared after seeing the r73 on the german mig-29

Guys the the aim-200 peregrine to American fighters could be cool. It might make them a little strong because it would be Aim-120 and pretty much a MICA but it’ll give the US and I think possibly the UK a TV missile. (Not saying it should go to UK but yk people will beg either way)

The r73 may be really good in dogfights but i still think the magic 2 is better personally
Yes the 9m isn’t the greatest but it will still be the best missile in grb and sim simply because of the smokeless motor and also i do prefer the 9m when it comes to chase people because the missile has good range
And since the aim9x shares that feature if it ever comes to the game it will be the one of the greatest dogfight missile in game

R-73 has gotten a little better, I must admit.
The new AoA limiter mode + HMD makes the Su-30SM especially deadly. I had an end-of-match 1v1 pop up for me, where it was me vs. an F/A-18C Late, forced him to stay low, got setup at just a low enough speed to hit him with an odd angle, fired at like 0.9km, and collected the win… and without crashing at the end.
Would it be nice to have something closer to the AIM-9M with the aggressive seeker, and better sustainer? Sure. But having 10-12 R-77-1’s makes up for it, and give the R-73 a unique role to play.
Really been enjoying the Su-30SM since I got it.
