Next Major Update - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion

Aren’t most NATO GNSS Weapons compatible with GALILEO as well? They certainly should be, given it’s more precise

Depends on whether it is just cutting off from GPS satellites or generally cutting off from datalink/GNSS

Galileo is an EU-System. The US can’t cut them of from that. But stuff like Datalink Satellites would be a problem, I don’t know of any EU nation that has their own (maybe France does, that would be a thing they do)

Could they even work with F-35’s, if they did exist?

I’m pretty sure all of the American GNSS guided weapons use their NAVSTAR GPS only

If they use the same protocol as the US ones they should, unless the US has build a filter into the software to block specific satellites. Tho that would also require a way to identify which satellite the info is coming from, and idk if datalink does that. It wouldn’t be surprising if it does tho

That would be pretty dumb imo, but also something the US would absolutely do

Well, GALILEO is civil operated, not military operated and I believe that so far GALILEO has not been used for weapon guidance.

Im pretty sure the usa removes the ability to connect to a gps/gnss satellite

While I coudn’t find any Info on if its currently used for weapons guidance, it definitely can be.

As in can turn the GNSS receivers on the F-35 of? If that can be done remotely that would very stupid

Would be cool to have B-58 Snoopy

why do some top tier planes like f15a f18c late f15e etc have to grind through non-irccm fox2s like 9L while other top tier planes (mig29g and mig29smt for example) capable of carrying non-irccm missiles like R-60 IRL dont have to?

Well, R-60s are pure garbage at that point, so they are not even an option on those planes

As to why the Sidewinder carrying planes have to grind through the modules, easy, Gaijin loves money.

Spoiler

Afaik the amount of RP you need stays the same even if the modifications didn’t exist, you would just have one thing less to unlock. They could still put the IRCCM missiles at a lower spot to make you grind other potentially useless mods first.

we really need maneuver kill mechanic now with all of these flanker players overdosing on aoa button and crashing

We already needed that before. I’ve seen more Eurofighter players crash than get killed in plane to plane combat

I’m really hoping Gaijin does some sort of decompression next month. I’ll make another thread outlining what I would like to see later on, but we really should AT LEAST go to 14.7. We are in need of another “13.0 → 13.7” -esque decompression spread like they did last year.

The Rafale and Eurofighter are simply in their own league, very closely followed by the F-15E and less closely by the Su-30SM. Decompression was needed back before this patch went live, but Gaijin decided to recompress BRs AGAIN.

Anything more than minimal decompression is the end of the world to Gaijin, so I doubt it.

Yeah true. What prompted the 13.0 → 13.7 “decompression” that they did last year was the addition of Fox-3s being more intensely game-changing than they expected.

We got no such major changes this patch other than an upped quantity of Fox-3s in general.

One can dream though I guess lol
