Next Major Update - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion (Part 1)

At least the foxbat and foxhound do turn… The turn radius of a yf12 is LITERALLY 150 km
It is, without any exageration, completely unusable in a game like warthunder

at mach 3.2 maybe, if they step it down a bit i think it could be managable, i heard A-12 series was alright to fly or something

osprey cool, shame they never put any weapons on a Mi-26 (afaik)

Wdym? The aircraft was specifically made for the AIM-54 it was loading AIM-54s.

Also on your point of the AIM-54. That is what is kinda considered a requirement for an aircraft to be a 4th gen.

I believe I mixed the production dates for the Phoenix and Tomcat around. It was somehow stuck in my mind that the Tomcat entered production before the Phoenix did.

About the jet fighter generations, carrying ARHs is not a requirement for a fighter to be considered 4th gen, the 4th generation of fighter jets predates the introduction of the AIM-120, R-77 and MICA.

The F-15, F-16, F/A-18, MiG-29, Su-27, Tornado, Mirage 2000 and Saab 37 all entered service without ARHs and didn’t carry any for quite some time.

Fair enough. BVR was one of the staples for 4th gen fighters and I usually just associate that with the ARH. But the SARH of the other aircraft do still hit the BVR abilities.

Either way the F-14 was an Fox3 slinger when it entered and was the staple for it’s introduction.

They will come eventually. The top tier aircraft rush is almost over and I’m really happy about that, first because we’ll finally have the F-22 and the F-35s but also because once it’s over the F-106, F-102 and all of the other cool cold war aircrafts will be added, I have no doubt about that! Just have to be patient.

I think we will see them eventually. Right now, Gaijin is rushing towards the end of the Air tech tree, not unlike what they were doing with Ground a few years ago. Gaijin needs a constant stream of new content for the game, so they will double back once they “catch up” to the end of Air, which I think they’ll be close to doing by the end of this year.

With the potential introduction of strategic bombers drawing close, this would give a great opportunity to go back and add more of the dedicated interceptor aircraft that have been missed. But not unlike the strategic bombers, not every nation has their own interceptor designs, so this would mostly benefit the USA and USSR.

With a mig-25 in the works it seems that gaijin may begin doing that sooner than we thought.

whats biggest size naval map

I don’t think they are gonna focus on older planes just yet. The MiG-25 will just be fanservice if it actually gets added, pretty much like the F-117.
I don’t know why they would go for the MiG-25 anyways, the MiG-31, while still not being ideal for WT in the slightest, would be a much more viable addition to the game, because that one at least has weapons that can keep it semi-competitive at the BR that is required to balance its raw speed.

Not sure how big the naval EC maps are, but I’d guess at least 64x64km

we need that as standard EC naval maps in RB

wym? Regular Naval RB maps definitely do not need to be that big

at high br 7.0 and later brs i mean

For absolute top tier and the future, sure, but not for anything below that

MiG-25 is like 12.0 max tbh

cruisers can stay on the old ones dreadnoughts and stuff higher

When Granit ships?
