Next Major Update - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion

it only used FB-10A, old FB-10 is just a transitional version, now fully abandoned.
FB-10A is bigger, like R-27E to R-27

I think old FB-10 is never used in 625 but mounted on a different, missile only chassis.

both 625E and IRIS-T has this character, I think its theme is DL+IR.

I honestly would not be surprised if this ended up being another F-16 / MiG-29 update – at least in the air department.

Assuming we get the F-2A next patch, there are a few other F-16 upgrades we could see, like:

The F-16C Block 50+ PoBIT for the USA

The F-16V Block 70 for Taiwan

The F-16I SUFA for Israel

Russia could get any of the following as well in response:

The MiG-29M

mig29m-7

The MiG-29K (could also go to the UK via India)

MiG-29K_fighter_from_Russian_Navy_deployed_for_the_first_time_in_Arctic_925_001

The MiG-35 (would probably come after the MiG-29M if it isn't skipped)

My main question would be what exactly each of these planes would get. New Fox-3s, new Fox-2s, new HMDs, new TGPs, etc. would all definitely be cool. But they’re not exactly needed right now. We may well be in for another bout of power creep – especially if Gaijin starts adding modern Fox-2 SAMs and puts those missiles on aircraft.

We are pretty reasonably sure that the IRIS-T SLS is coming to the game, meaning things like the Surface Launched ASRAAM, MICA-VL, and SLAMRAAM are on the table as well. I’m very curious to see how things go this coming patch.

That goes hard

it’s quite a surprise that they decided to deploy DL+IR earlier than ARH

MICA-VL is going to be a complicated animal to implement, because the missile already exists in game on an air platform, unlike the others

I was moreso referencing the IR variants being added to aircraft. For example, IRIS-T/ASRAAMs on the Eurofighter, AIM-9Xs on the F-16C, F-15C, F-15E, MICA-IRs on the Rafale, M2K, etc. That’s where we will enter another period of power creep – especially since the IRIS-T, ASRAAM, PL-10, AAM-5, and MICA-IR are quite a bit better than the AIM-9X and R-74M

Having that range on a nigh unflareable IR missile alone makes it quite a step above most things we have now.

The gatling gun is the thing I like the most about it. They’re almost always great fun in ground.

This shouldn’t go on the Mirage 2000-5F, in my opinion, since it would create a massive gap. Instead, the Mirage 2000-5F Mk 2 should be added and foldered with the base -5F and get MICA-IRs.

Yeah I could see that. Although I am curious if they’ll add the MICA-IR to the Mirage 2000D-RMV and increase its BR. We do have yet to see just how powerful they make next-gen IR missiles, so it couldn’t be outside the realm of possibility.

For example, they could add them with only marginally better IRCCM, not adding Imaging IR (IIR) seekers. They could either leave IRCCM as it is with only gate-width or tracking suspension, or they could add them all with both GW + TS to make them more of an upgrade. I guess we’ll see.

yup, powercreep it will be

What i meant is that MICA-VL SAM can access fox 2 and 3 (MICA EM or IR, same missile, different seeker)

Thing is, the EM variant already exists in game, and i think people are about to realize the shortcomings of the physics engine are bigger than they thought when those kind of missiles (on aircraft and used by SAM sites) are going to appear

I want that to happen when it’s added.

That’s what I’d like.

I have a feeling it might not be as unflareable in game. Unless they made a new aiming mechanic/treat them like spikes that is.

the actually problem is energy, especially for IRIS-T, it’s still a aam without extra booster, though modern rocket will give it a good start energy, but still can’t compete with real SAMs like VT-1 or 95YA6(in energy), and tvc also causes energy loose.
12km range is a self destruct limit, I guess it’s real active range is around 6km

is there any public figures regarding burn time on iris-t ?

SAAB’s website said it has a speed of Mach3, quite low for air launch. after all, it’s AIM-9 size, so the propellant is very limited
I guess it won’t be a top SPAA.
