Japan isn’t even an option here. Japan is already in a tree with Thailand, so logically we’d stay within the SEA area going forward rather than the one most anti Japanese Asian nation.
Indonesia is a much more logical option here, with good relations to both Japan and Thailand.
SK is either for a combined Korean tree, or if that isn’t possible, for US.
Colombia’s problem is that historically, it has never had many tanks, only the Stuart, and after that, never again. Currently, they only operate the Brazilian EE-9 Cascavel, a wheeled vehicle with a 90 mm cannon. They don’t excel in the air either, but at least they can offer the Gripen, which they will now buy. Historically, the three major military powers in Latin America have been Argentina, Brazil, and Chile. The addition of Colombia to Israel was mandatory only because they operate the Kfir C.10, but beyond that there is no connection
R2Y2-J, R2Y2-Ja, R2Y2-Jb: the announced research / purchase restrictions will be applied tomorrow 12:45 (may happen without version change)
A final Salute to ouer Jet Zeros that Terrorized B29s and everything else back in the day and are now a “sad” overtiered vehicle that will never see a BR change again.
Despite beeing “Fake” you brought us Japanese mains a lot of joy and we Veterans will tell the storys to the future Generation about ouer glorius Jet Zero that sadly vanished.
For mid to high tier it was the best option, for top tier, there is already a native option that we’ve already discussed is way overdue.
So yea, telling Japan no F-2 for you, we have Gripen at home is kinda annoying, especially on the same update that introduced AESA fighters/gen 4.5 fighters.
I don’t want to really get into it since we’ve all talked about it before, but maybe in an update or two we’ll finally get our domestic CAS option (that I really only want to use for CAP anyway).
I honestly wonder how they plan to do that… I always thought they’d replace it with the Type 99, now we have that and it’s still here.
I’m genuinely out of ideas how to replace it, considering the real Ho-Ri is much more in line with a ~6.3/6.7 BR, so that wouldn’t work either…
Maybe simply more 7.3 vehicles in general?
At least the prototype is simple though, plenty of 6.7 premium options like STA-1B/2B/4 or some Type 61 models.
They could probably go for a semi-historical Thai F-16A Block 10. They were bought for parts, but at least they got Thai camos and it’s the closest Thailand has.
For more a realistic one maybe Singaporean F-16A-30 could do it too since they basically had the same armament minus the SARH missiles. Or An early service Indonesian F-16A if Singapore’s too controversial.
It can be like the MLU, where one has limited weaponry and one in practice - similar to Chinese TT where the one that Taiwan actually operates isnt in the game - as the late one. Still a better choice than the OCU IMO.
As of heavy armor, I have no idea. But Sweden wasnt much better as well before kungstiger. Id suppose more support-oriented vehicles like jeeps with type 79 ATGM, a heavy but slow missile etc.
The Kungstiger was a cheap and easy way for gaijin to say yeah. We don’t care about Finland being accurate because Germany has it, so to call it even heres some tiger 2 that doesn’t bolster a lineup thats actually played. Enjoy, it never should have been added and its an insult to Germany and Finland to deny the KV-1B which would’ve given the 4.x lineup some much needed versatility over the TD but 16x scope on a Panzer 38t chassis, TD but worse than Sturer Emile and at a higher BR, and TD disguised as an SPAA that cant play as an SPAA, and a TD that is basically a gambling simulator as to whether your round nukes the vehicle or you get machined gun to death by a brisk breeze.
The OCU would be amazing with historical loadouts, 13.0 BR without AMRAAMs and some of the missing air to ground armaments. As soon as the ADF took the dedicated interceptor role, the Thai OCU became essentially a dedicated attack variant which is pretty unique.
Though with the OCU here I’d prefer not to see an identical OCU with less weapons at a lower BR. At least the parts bin Block 10s would be a bit different.
That’s why I prefer the Singaporean F-16s, they are unique since they’re the heavier and reinforced Block 30 airframe fitted to Block 15 spec, and with brake chutes. They’d be the worst early F-16 performance wise, but at least interesting. Similar for Indonesia, they also have break chutes, but still just regular Block 15 airframes.
Yeah, I’d just give up on armor. The Type 99 was a good SPG replacement, but for armor there’s nothing to go to 7.3
Personally I’d say Gaijin should just prepare some new 7.3 or two, not necessarily armored, just vehicles to make sure there’s still a lineup, and a realistic Ho-Ri for a lower BR and announce the replacement. We can wait for the perfect heavy TD to replace it, but then we’d wait forever.
Don’t worry, the snail will grant you the F-2… but without an engine or wings since we believe those are marketing lies. Also, USSR gets a new missile that uses wormhole technology to get to it’s target :]
