and for where?

the laws from each country around the world are totally different from each other in my country This ends in a lawsuit for false advertising or misleading advertising with malice and public deceit no matter if it is april fools or not they should be really carefull with what they do. i dont know on other countries how this works but here gaijin would be in real troubles.

Even though it’s a prank players are still getting fooled by it.

Both sides knew it was april 1st a day about joking there is no lawsuit

For context, this Reddit link leads to a now-deleted post on r/Warthunder (the user’s account was deleted for an unknown reason), with a screenshot of the user contacting customer support and asking whether the infantry trailer was an April Fools joke, and the representative replying that it is not a joke. The image, now not visible, definitely looked authentic when I saw it earlier today.

I asked the same and got told that it was posted on april 1st

a lot of people doesn´t care and does not know what is april fools mate and they even dont know in what day is april fools and again if you read my comment again i was really direct IN MY COUNTRY THIS IS A LAWSUIT no matter what. they should be really carefull with what they do and say because each country have different laws and this is not new its not simple as someone here said “its april fools” tadaaaa!!! and problem solved haha thats not how it works guys.

We really need a CM to comment on this.

Because it’s hard to tell what’s real or not, more so when it involves a trailer dated April 1st or April Fools, a day of fake announcements.

I lean towards fake, as the internet nowadays can easily fake screenshots, and without an email address, it could be fake, and that’s what I lean too.

False advertising as I understand it would have only mattered if gaijin made any money of the sale of infantry combat.

If they had been upselling the idea of turning war thunder into an FPS for months or had sold specific infantry based content and then never followed through on it, then it mgiht be considered false advertising.

in this regard there is reasonable expectation that it wasnt real and there has been no such upselling of the game or products through the use of what is more than likely an april fool joke .

I strongly doubt Gaijin or any other game could actually genuinely be sued for false advertisement over this and only maybe in the US. Here in Europe, they probably wouldnt be.

Seeing how we shouldnt get the next updated till may im thinking its fake

If this is real then I hope that it will be a separate game mode

The only time Gaijin had a chance of being sued was when the Italian M60 was advertised with a stabilizer, but they removed it from sale before removing the stabilizer.

The picture posted on reddit proves literally nothing. There is nothing identifying the email as legit.

Your “legality” bit, just get lost lmao

no they are doing false advertising implicating the game development with false promises this could mislead many people to buy items from their game (GE, Gaijin Coins, premium ACC) waiting for a lot of content that could not come to the game this is an example.

Misleading who exactly? The people that didn’t see the fat April 1st date stamp on the announcement (which was posted on March 31st btw)?

At no point did it claim the infantry would even be playable.
AI infantry will come to War Thunder at some stage, but it will never be playable for good reason.

There are other games where you can play as infantry against tanks if you want.

And no, there’s no false advertising.

Even then, they have disclaimers on dev-blogs and purchases pages regarding vehicle properties changing and anyone who knows anything about War Thunder shouldnt be under the expectation that a vehicle wouldnt ever change just because its a premium.
