I’m collecting all the ww1 vehicles because their models look cool, but fuck no I would never even put them in a lineup, let alone take them into battle.
I will however take out my ace crew M8 LAC (US) from time to time to have some fun sealclubbing ww1 tanks though.
It faces weapons that completely eradicate it in every mode.
Your climb rate doesn’t matter in ground battles and naval battles because you are such a huge target, even at a large distance.
In air battles the only thing your climb rate does for you is making people not want to engage with you while the only thing you can do to win is bomb (if you ever get to the bases, that is) and most likely your bombs wouldn’t be enough to destroy the airfield (again, if you can even get there).
At least for ground, half the time they’ll be more useful than the guys in MBTs(their 1DLs, as they bought the $100 ones) as they might do some things and respwan.
Based on the idea of putting them at the very start of the TT before the current reserve vehicles being BR 0.0-0.7 but it could easily be a separate tab within the nation similar to how Naval is split between Bluewater and Coastal.
Just put some premiums of some aces/notable pilots as we have some aces/notable pilots as premium aircraft already. (Also as a monetary option for Gaijin as no TT is complete without a way for them to make money)
The biggest issue with a WW1 tech tree is that it makes no sense from a financial standpoint
Not enough players will spend money on them to warrant paying hundreds of thousands for 3D models for an entire TT of these aircraft
B-but it would be an nice reward for everyone who took part in the Event :)
Like, we have Po-2 and TB-3M :(
So why cant we keep the Zeppelin just for Fun?
Could come at a later date.
The issue is that events and their rewards are planned long in advance so making a change like that while the event is ongoing is going to be difficult. Most likely it will come with the next mark of distinction air reward or have its own dedicated event
Difficult? Ehh…
Planned long ago? Sure, but that isnt our fault and we are the players, and as an wise man said once, the Customer is allways the King…
No, not really
Customers for the most part are unknowledgeable and will often ask for unreasonable things, many times things that they themselves will dislike eventually
