Indeed, we’ll have to see what the update brings.
However, even if the game mode will actually be Battlefield-like, I have huge doubts about that kind of infantry gameplay ever being added to the actual game. Adding vehicles to a first/third person shooter à la CoD is one thing, but adding infantry to a game that is completely focussed on vehicle to vehicle combat is a much more complicated process that might require the entire game to be re-imagined.

What do you mean? Thermal sights and automatic rifles were a key part of WW1.

It’s just the Czech Mi-24D that’s already in a game with an altered camo. Same deal as that one MiG-21 in the Hornet’s Sting trailer.
That’s part of the joke, i think

Rewatching the trailer. There are a LOT of scenes that seem like gameplay where you are scoped in with an AR/Sniper. So I think it could be FPS style
Well considering the title of the Announcement was Infantry and Expanding War Thunder (or something like that) i’m going to assume it would come as part of the “Expansion” bit of that, likely a different game mode
Always keep in mind that this is an announcement for an April Fools joke. We’ll see later on who got fooled and who had the right instincts…

Or it could be like War Thunder
TPS with a “zoomed” and a “scoped in” view
If we get to control individual soldiers, this is the most likely way we get to control them. Just like in Mobile Infantry the soldiers would be treated as vehicles and somewhat conform to the usual WT control methods.
Arms gets disabled hold on let me take 15secs to repair.

Would the eyes count as optics? Would they absorb spall just like the real deal?

Also, Active Matter is still in testing - that 's another possible source of some weapons or mechanics alongside Enlisted/Cuisine.

That’s the first time I’ve heard of that, interesting.
I only knew about Project Void Space, but that is being developed by Targem, not Gaijin.
T-bagging while shouting “Attack the D Point”. It’s going to happen!

You sound like the folks that said the MBT April fools event was NEVER gonna get added to the game! NEVER say NEVER! Your Khorne Rage and the Nails are BLINDING you Bother!
The main Problem is what about Enlisted why add inf to War Thunder when they have an inf based Shooter
I would say that there is a slight difference between adding newer vehicles that ultimately do basically the same thing and adding infantry to a game that was built to be a vehicular combat arcade/sim hybrid.
As I’ve said before, I could see them adding AI infantry and maybe RTS-like controllable squads and emplacements, but I just cannot see them adding player controlled soldiers with Battlefield/Enlisted-like gameplay. There just is no way they could shoehorn that into WTs gameplay.
