Next Major Update - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion

I mean, there are more, but yes, if you ignore the rest of the world those indeed are the only “new” top tier 4th gens.

I was talking about the US… Sorry if this wasn’t clear enough.

Guys, if the Gnat was added, which line would it be in? (UK tech tree)
And the Tejas as well

I’d guess Line-2 for Gnat, after the Javelin and before the Lightning

I would expect it to be in the 1st or 4th column. The 2nd column seems more like a heavy fighter column (at least when it comes to jets)

Being a trainer, it doesnt really fit overly neatly into the normal “rules” of each line

1 - multirole
2 - fighters / interceptors
3 - naval
4 - Strike
5 - bomber

Its closest equivalants are probably the Venom/Hunters in line-1 or the Meteors in Line-2. I was thinking line-2 more because there isnt a 9.0 currently there and would fit quite neatly between the Javelin and Lightning.

Hawks would probably be Line-4 but I dont think the Gnat would be and instead would be classed as a fighter.

It’s complete a$$ that the F-2 hasn’t come, and I really don’t know why it wasn’t in the last update. Wishing the best for y’all. Just test driving the Su-30SM has had me feeling things (only plane I’ve wanted since I got back into WT).

Can’t wait for tax season to be over so I can get back to my normal rig with all my regular settings so I can finish the grind.

F-2 is a Marketing lie :P

The Gnat wasn’t just a trainer though. It was designed as a fighter, but used as a trainer by the RAF.

Judging by the fact that the Supermarine Swift is in the 4th column I can absolutely see the Gnat going there as well, as the Gnat feels more in line with the nimble Swifts than with the massive hulks that are the Javelin and Lightning.

True, would follow on from the Swifts quite well too.

The Gnat was also a very decent fighter bomber that was fully combat capable

Only 2x 500lb bombs or 12x 3 inch rockets in British service. So compared to most others, it would be rather weak for us. Instead it would most likely make quite a decent gunfighter and be of most use in A2A

“Decent” is stretching it lol

It was fine as a makeshift fighter bomber, but it never really shined in that role

True. Then first line I guess
Also, what about the Tejas? Since India is now a uk subtree and is there to stay, we gotta add the Tejas…

No idea. I know nothing about it and im not that fussed by it. Maybe line-1?

The Tejas would go into the first column, most likely between the Gripen and the Typhoon.

The F/A-18E late (Block II) and F-15EX it’s 4.5 gen fighter aircraft

But F/A-18E/F early (Block I) just 4th gen fighter aircraft

I’m looking forward PAF Mirage III & Mirage 5 (basic & ROSE), F-16CJ (Blk 52 plus), JF-17 late (Blk 2), JF-17C and Chengdu F-7

Su-30M, Su-27SM3 (some say the current 27SM is basically an SM3), J-11BS too.

no please don’t build a flanker tower in the Russian tree, would look so bad
Or if we gotta add all the army of Flankers that were ever made at least split them into several lines

And that’s just USA, in others trees we can still get quite a few:

  • F-2A for Japan (the most wanted right now)
  • Mig-35 for Russia
  • Early Rafale M at lower BR (why didn’t we get it before the F3 bruh)
  • More chinese flankers
  • The Tejas for UK
  • A last gen Gripen for Sweden

And so on
