Next Major Update - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion

Which is why we probably didn’t need them but what else does EU have that isnt from a sub tree? Europe spec’ed into one plane that will be out of variants without making up things that are currently classified. I understand the need for something to counter the F-15E but Europe will run out of Tranches in like two updates while the US has at least a dozen planes that with the right kit will keep it fairly competitve.

Rafale f3 is from 2009 tho?

That’s very true yeah, but British and French mains were getting pretty angry not getting their domestic stuff, I sure wanted my Rafale myself, even though it’s bringing the game into a very modern era it isn’t specifically ready for.

I don’t really agree on that though, there’s really only 3 new top tier aircrafts that could be brought in right now, the F-15EX, F/A-18C and F/A-18E. Gaijin has showed in the past that they don’t add sub variants, just look at the huge jump bewteen the F-16A block 15 and the F-16C Block 50. imo I think it’s a good thing because the game has to advance and adding 50 sub variants of an existing airframe gets annoying, but i definitely understand why some people still want them.

F-16E, F-16C upgraded past block 70 standard, block 2 and 3 super hornets, F-15C with an apg 63v3, F-15E with an apg82v1, EPAWSS maybe, and gbu 53 (which should come to current F-15E to compete with brimstone)

Also USMC super hornets with an/APG-79v4. Also the export derivative strike eagles and advanced eagles

Those are all sub-variants of an already existing aircraft, as I’ve mentioned Gaijin doesn’t add those, even if I would love to get my hands on an AESA Eagle.

**I included super hornet here my bad

The f-16c and e have a ton of upgrades. New engine for the E, and new radar and an irst, the upgraded USAF C has a new radar, cockpit, and ECM

If the AESA eagles got aim120c it’d be a completely justified addition

That’s for sure, but they’re still sub-variants nonetheless.

I’m sure the Aim-120C-5 is going to be added to the already existing F-15C, and perhaps once the 5th gens have been added we’ll start to see those sub-variants. I want my F-15C Golden Eagle lol

Funny thing is that only 1 of the 3 planes you listed here would actually advance the game lol.

Hmm, if by advance you mean increase the capabilities, perhaps you’re talking about the F-15EX?

If you mean bringing a new airframe then the Legacy hornet for sure, I’ve heard the F/A-18E is going to have slightly worse performances than the Legacy.

In retrospect, this is correct. MBT’s are almost done.

This. The F-15EX is the only one that will advance the US tree caspability wise of the aircraft you listed.

Hell, a F-16C or F-15C/E with aesa radar will advance the US tree more than the F/A-18s will ever hope to do.

Which is still an absolute massive cope.

I would expect that would be another reason why they’ve added India to Britain as once we’ve ran out we can suck on Su’s ect from India

Oh yeah I completely agree, this is why I think the Raptor and the other 5th Gens are just around the corner, there just isn’t many more competitive top tiers left to add.

Also the F-15E and F-111F are getting the IR version of the AGM-130

Yeah, I think people overestimate how much further Gaijin can extend out the top tier of aircraft. I’ve said it before and I will say it again, the F-22 will be the tentpole cover image aircraft for the December 2025 update.

Both Ground (in terms of MBTs) and Air (in terms of fighters) are running low on top-tier vehicles. @SPANISH_AVENGER I quite like your list of MBTs that could be added, and it’s an excellent point to show the possibilities of what’s out there, but Gaijin is unlikely to add every single one of those. Unless they shift their strategy to implementing every granular variant of every vehicle imaginable (which I suppose is possible but just doesn’t fit with their methods so far and seems like it would offer at best diminishing returns from a business perspective). Obviously for ground, support vehicles like TDs and IFVs have a lot of potential to be expanded, especially at top tier. And thanks to the QnA with BVVD we know that more SPAAs and SAMs are being developed for top tier as well.

As for air, I suspect that Gaijin will slow down with top-tier additions and instead focus on new vehicle types, like interceptors and strategic bombers. With the new game modes that have been leaked and datamined, it seems like a logical step that would add quite a few notable new vehicles to many tech trees.

Exactly my thoughts!

This sentence gives me chills haha! Even if the game isn’t really ready for those 5th gens, I’m more than eager to get a taste of the Raptor in War Thunder.

Like I said before, India is just Gaijin’s scapegoat to give Britain new C&P vehicles with minimal effort.
