Yeah, i agree with this. Just give us the SEP v3 for the normal TT instead of this boring thing.
huh, probably explainable by SHar being lower altitude and better at distinguishing ground clutter from jets. also, the AWACS couldve just been an older one, they do have pretty long service lifes
Normal operating alt of the FA2 was around 30k ft. So I doubt it.
Was a radar designed for detecting and targeting sea-skimming anti-ship missiles based upon lessons learnt during the falklands
ah ok so naturally itd be better than an AWACS made for detecting aircraft at regular altitudes very far away, at detecting low flying targets.
Yep, which is impressive for such a tiny radar. The F-15s radar was more than twice the size and performed similarly
It is not the VT-4A1, but the Base VT-4. This also means it has worse ERA, but makes it a decent option for not-yet-top tier. And hopefully an incentive for Gaijin fo fix the VT-4 in the Chinese tree, though that might be wishful thinking.
I think it’s way more likely than the original nation. For the Thai one the “reasons” shouldn’t apply.
It will actually have quite good armor considering the lacking ammo (3BM42) will keep the BR a bit lower.
Considering nations with much more available domestic content like Britain or France got multi-nation subtrees it is likely there will be more nations than just Thailand.
The ASEAN Founders subtree has already been suggested for air, with the ground suggestion pending.
Well, subtrees aren’t limited to one gamemode, and the air tree has a lot more subtree space too.
The ASEAN Founders subtree includes quite a few interesting CAS options to specifically help solve that issue.
really? ive seen 175km range claims for the base 63 and like 185km for the 70 and probably also 63v1
pretty sure gaijin really underselling F-15 radar, no way it was really more than twice as bad in range as the F-14’s AN/AWG-9
also you might be confusing the F-15 radar with the F-18 radar, F-15 is AN/APG-63 and F-18 is AN/APG-73
Another reminder this is half of the update, there likely gonna be more
Ojalá 🙏
Its probably a ranking of ECM resistance and track quality once a target has been locked/acquired, I also doubt the Blue Vixen was actually reaching the same ranges as APG-63 and 70 personally, but i’m not super informed on these radars so I could be wrong. Just my guess.
Going by flames report for detection range on the Blue Vixen, it can detect small aircraft at ranges of 100km. I would assume it can be used out further than that, but thats from the “official docs” I cant find any “claimed ranges”
Based upon various discussions i’ve seen online, Blue Vixen is usually considered equal to the AN/APG-73 in terms of performance. Was nearly oging to be fitted into RAAF F-18s before they decided to go with AN/APG-73 due to the easier logistics and lower irntegration costs
Blue Vixen was eventually developed into the CAPTOR-M radar for the Typhoon
Sep V3 is going to be a disappointment like the previous Abramses. I would like to see a new SPAA instead of a nerfed Abrams.
Hull armor pls
we can only dream about that
It’s should be pretty obvious by now that the leaks don’t always have 100% of the update.
I mean the Hungarian sub wasn’t on the list and it came.
The forbidden fruit.
What’s this?
Will the Bison be on christmas sale this year? Premiums are after 3 updates if i am not wrong?
by the way, does the blue vixen weight include the radar rack or just the radar itself? because compared to the 73 without the rack its only 9kg lighter than the AN/APG-73
I have no idea. I’ve just heard it was about half the size of the AN/APG-70 series radar and comprable to the AN/APG-73 in terms of performance.
