They do in fact have a border… It’s just not where you’d expect.
That being said, I agree that it’s a stupid idea. France has enough domestic options to fill this gap and if those are discarded then there are still more suitable other options available in nations like Belgium that do actually have an overlap with France.

Actually no if you do some research.
The territories are treated as part of France, not as colony, with all the advantage coming with.
Some asked for a referedum to stay or leave, and went their own way.
Others decided to stay after referedum.

Actually yes, I’m not going to start a heated debate in Ru&RoUp thread, but I will say this, if not for colonialism, old and today’, France would not be where it is (prosperity and wealth wise).

I am working on an essay(literally my dissertation) critisizing French neocolonialism, but when I am playing war thunder, I turned out to be the biggest imperialist. Literally every former colony Britain had, I mightve done a brief research, and thought: “their tank would be great for my X.X lineup!”.
