This is somewhat true. But that’s only for a new player. If you’d never played the game and decided to get F-20 when it’s on sale, then yeah $37.50 is fine. But then a Rank 9 Premium will come out and now it’s an extra $40.00 on top of the earlier $37.50.
These things are cumulative in cost, essentially. Since F-5C premium at Rank 7 won’t be able to properly research Rank 9 whenever that happens.
Exactly. I adore War Thunder, and I want its development and support to last for as many years as possible. It is of my interest for the developers to benefit financially from this project as much as it is to them.
Do people really think we would have got this far (10+ years and 2,600+ vehicles) without Premium vehicles, specially Top Tier ones, which are the top sellers both for grind and personal preference reasons? No.

I work for a software developer which also does continued development. Not a game so people actually expect to pay for it. Which is needed. Cost goes up after initial release, something not clear yet to many in the gaming community. Especially if people can technically play without paying.

I agree that it isn’t worth the price, but its clear that they are limiting sales numbers of it by settings such a price, so the respective BR won’t be just a full stack of those in every match.

I would never have bothered to grind France, Israel, Japan or Sweden without Top Tier Premiums. I am a MBT enthusiast and, as such, I want to dedicate my gameplay time to MBTs.
Therefore, I am a Top Tier player for the most part. I am NOT sitting for months grinding an entire tree with tanks that are not of my interest.
The f2p players are bait for whales. Lose them and lose the whales, simple as.
