This bonus is only for next coming nation?
It will not work with already present nation that we wish to grind from start?

What do you mean by that? Ex military but never got deployed?
Same. I’m a former bush pilot (C210’s in Africa, C208’s in SE Asia) but now work behind a desk. Most people’d expect me to play FSM or DCS but WT is such a great way to enjoy the physics of aviation but not have to study a POH again for each aircraft you fly. Full flight sims don’t make sense to me without 360 degree vision and a proper instrument panel. A gamepad and tv screen just don’t allow you to interact the way you do with an actual aircraft and there is no “seat of the pants” anyways so for me semi sim like War Thunder Sim mode is the best form of gaming interaction with aviation.
Cheers to that! Count me in, in praising the best video game ever! Been gaming on DOS and a NES since the early 90’s and had some great video game experiences. Nothing tops War Thunder.
@Smin1080p what are the odds of the devs squeezing in a green /basic forest camo for the SA vehicles this major update?
Also how goes the CR2 rework?
We must pray brothers. Pray that tomorrow is a blessed day
It’s for all tech trees after you complete one.
I pray that i get want im coping for
Soon i shall know
Civilian who always wanted to become a fighter pilot, but ultimately couldn’t due to some specific circumstances during the critical moments to take the step.
But also and foremost, what stopped me was… fear of not having what it takes to be a good soldier. It held me back from even fully attempting to go down that path, even if I had been dreaming about it since I was 8.
I always feared; “random 1.73m, 62 kg soft-ass cutie who can’t do three pushups and doesn’t even have enough discipline to wake up in the mornings? Trying to be a soldier? Who am I kidding, that’s a sick joke… I wouldn’t last a week.”
Now, it doesn’t matter anymore whether I was right or not; maximum age to become a fighter pilot in Spain is 21, so that ship has sailed forever already.
Another option I always considered was attempting to become a tank crew member, but, once again, that fear of “not being fit for military life” took over and held me back.
I ended up settling with a civilian’s life. I am now finishing school and may find a nice job soon. But, deep down, I will always have that frustrated soldier inside me, lamenting: “I could have become it if I had had the courage and determination for it”. That’s why my profile picture is my face with pilot and tanker gear photoshopped into it on each half, hahah. A metaphor for: “I may be a civillian, but this is the real me, deep down” (not anymore in the Forums since they removed custom pfps smh).
So… now I just quench my military thirst with DCS and War Thunder, hahah. Maybe a civilian’s life with military themes as hobbies isn’t so bad, specially as someone who may indeed not be really fit for service. And that’s where War Thunder plays such a big role on my life, and one of the reasons why it sank so deep inside me.
That being said- if my country ever finds itself under attack, I will be right there to volunteer for the fight right from the start.
EDIT: damn, what a wall of text, lmao. SpanishAvenger lore for the night xD. 4:20 a.m. As I said, I get weirdly emotional at these times of the day, so I apologise, xD.
I think I need some sleep. Goodnight, will be looking forward to the teaser tomorrow!
I think hes asking if the RP bonus will work for the nation you have max tier on already.
For example. Im doubting Id get an RP bonus for grinding the Buc S2B as the nation I have max rank on is Britain.
I’ll be honest, most people setting out to become a fighter pilot simply don’t make the cut. If there is an ounce of doubt you wouldn’t make the selection since they’d figure it out. Selections there are ruthless.
If you wanna pull some G’s I strongly recommend to go glider flying. Typically will cost you only less than like a 1000-2000 Euro a year and those things rip. Sure you’ll never go over 250km/h but you can regularly pull like 4.5G’s which is about as much most aerobatics pilots do (because most gliders are aerobatic rated!). Spain has good thermal activity and hill flying so ideal environment. I did my initial (powered) flight training next door in Portugal and went into Spain regularly for IFR training and recall there is plenty of empty areas there to not be bothered with ATC too much.
On a side note, most military pilots have a very boring career. More getting up early than actual flying. 200 hours a year is a lot for them. For a commercial pilot that is very little. Almost hobby levels of flying and with little stick time they are still supposed to be on point with every check they get. Not an easy life.
desde argentina un abrazo enorme bro!! animos!! tal vez la vida te depara algo mejor quien sabe!
That’s another thought I had, hahah. To me, it was always important to have realistic expectations and not idealised fake pictures. And, as you said, getting up early and sleepless nights are a big part of it… which is one of the main reasons why I considered ME, of all people, trying to do it, an absolute joke, hahah. I don’t know anyone with worse sleep habits and discipline than myself xD.

And this is, indeed, why I ended up not even bothering to give it a try. It still hurts me to think that, maybe, in a parallel universe, I could have done it… but, deep down, it’s like I always knew I just wasn’t fit for it in the real world- it was just a fantasy.

Very interesting! As of now, I have no budget for anything, but, once I get a job, I may give that a try! When times were better and I was 11, I had the chance to fly a Cessna 175 (the pilot took-off and landed and was extremely vigilant during the flight lmao, but he still was generous enough to allow me to fly the thing when we were up in the air, since I had been “training” daily on CFS3 and FSX for 4 years by then and he knew it), and I still remember it as one of the happiest days of my life. It is clear to me that, as soon as I can afford it, I will reach the skies again, hehe.
Muchas gracias, otro abrazo para ti!! Ojalá… e igualmente! ^^
guys never change, i love you! we are a great community!
well lets wait for the teaser and lets see what they bring this time, i was hoping for FOX-3s maybe there is still a chance but we have to wait. good night!! or good day! depending in what part of the world you are.
I’ve been behind a desk for nearly a decade now but recently the potential popped up for my employer to renew some of my ratings (SEP/IR/FI) and assign a flying budget since I am still in aviation but then software development. Very happy to get back up into air somewhere towards the end of the year.
Tried to ignore the calling but it’s impossible. Same will go for you so strongly recommend Glider flying unless you get some sort of financial windfall. Powered flight is about 10 times the price but tbh glider flying is more fun. Only getting back into powered flight because it’s more inline with my work and get some work on the side instructing.
Edit, sorry for the off topic. Back to things now.
Trailer when?!
Hungarian line by itself won’t bring a lot apart from low tiers maybe, but if they also add Romanian stuff, then it will become way more interesting.
Glad to read those good news!!
You are right though, we went a bit off-topic, hahah. My bad! I went off the rails after reading that interview during my emotional roller coaster hours lol
I assume teaser tomorrow, and stream+server on Friday!
Hopefully excited to see if what im coping for is right and also to see how the martels on the new plane work
Im excited but also terrified. Some of the wording in the dev blog makes me think they are only going to function as ASMs and work in the same way as AS-34s do.
Seems awefully… specific. TV Martels would be 100x more effective than Paveways for that role.
Question, watching the Air Superiority trailer at the start you see what looks like maybe a visual update to radar??? Would be a nice looking add if they put it in. Most likely just for the trailer but???
