Major Update “Tusk Force” - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion (Part 3)

So what would the Hunter F6 have?

guns only at 9.0?

I’d rather that than the missiles it never carried tbh. Especially now the F1 is at 8.7 it would be a more reasonable upgrade imo

Pre- SRAAM overhaul. I might have agreed. But post SRAAM overhaul. I wanna keep the SRAAMs

Some things of the new update that were of interest to me:

  • Map rework look great
  • Finally a tech tree BMD-4. Thanks for this. Looks like a nice version after all too. However, I suggest to distinguish it more from the others to give it APFDS and uptier it a bit, so it can become a techtree equivalent of the BMP-2M. We now have 3 versions that are a lot a like, while also the BMP-3 is near it BR-wise.
  • New SPAA’s look cool and powerful. I especially like the different truck platforms used of the SAMP/T. As it should be, but I did not expect that.
  • The M55 looks… eh. It’s a really cool vehicle, don’t get me wrong but not sure what 203 mm will bring to the table that M53 155 mm can’t, except a much longer reload and much less ammo. I had preferred the M53 because of this, maybe with an option to upgrade to the 203 mm of the M55 for those that really want it. I guess I’ll have to see because I certainly will try it…
  • … but only in the US tree. Again this copy pasting of artillery vehicles after M109 and M44 sits not right with me. It breaks immersion of the WW2 ranks, disturbs the armor meta and much better domestic options like Hummel remain absent. All the more reason to have added only a M53. But too late now I guess.
  • I love vehicles like the B-66. It’s a good quality model too. Good to see there is still attention for tech tree additions of early Cold War vehicles. I hope we will see things like F-101, F102, Su-15TM, MiG-25 and the like soon.
  • Same, but for the Bf 109 T-2 and Ram I. Keep the WW 2 additions coming!
  • USSR is still missing a rank 8 premium plane, as one of the few remaining nations and the only major one. I would have expected that by now? I’m still hoping for some renewed MiG-29 love.
  • Thailand ground sub tree is quite interesting, especially like the Oplot-T and to a lesser extent the Stingray. Also with the addition of the Super Tigris with Derby it’s now one of the better sub trees. Still I would advocate an overhaul how sub trees work.
  • T58 is in theory a spectacular vehicle (and unlike most I don’t mind it being a pack premium), but the ammo options ruins it. It seems there is no real damage benefit of high caliber heat compared to 90mm HEAT for example, so this renders the gun caliber pretty much irrelevant. And let’s not speak of HESH. Ballistics seem a placeholder from the AVRE gun, but the damage is absolutely atrocious. People that shell out 50 bucks for such an underwhelming gun will be rightfully disappointed. Personally I will refrain from buying it unless this is solved.
  • Additions to China are unexciting. Shame with so many options.
  • As I feared and said earlier, France is now getting a lot of copy paste Benelux additions it seems . Again shame with so many way cooler domestic options.
  • Even though I don’t really play it, I like the continued additions to naval, both bluewater and coastal. These are some cool ships to see again. And still maybe one day I will play it.
  • New Mosquito’s should also go to UK, but I hear this was confirmed on the dev stream so all good. Also when finally bomber Mosquito?
  • Always love to see new models and updated cockpits. Nice to see attention to this with the Tiger P for example. I would like to see this remodels appear with a higher volume, as there are a lot of outdated models in the game, especially of planes (FW 190 for example)

Overall a nice update that does not change a lot but has some cool additions and graphic updates.

Not really, the Tam Sam has its uses

For Example the contrast seeker mode on the IR missile is not affected by LDIRCM

Which makes it a great option to take out helicopters

Most helis know to stay low which totally prevents a lock with contrast mode. Also, at the moment, the system is broken. If you wanted to take both types of missiles to be more versatile, you’ll get stuck in an endless loop of reloading. If you take only one type, you are making yourself nearly useless against half the targets. Even if Gaijin fixed Tan-SAM kai and gave it missing features, it would still be far behind something like IRIS-T SLM or the upcoming Buk and SAMP/T.

See Everything wrong with the Tan-SAM Kai (TADS)

Only issue is where are they going to hide from HE at this point, there aren’t that many places to put them where they are safe.

The inevitable MIM-104’s are going to be such a pain.

IIRC only the F-106, F-105, F-102 and F-101 were mentioned in the Q&A from July 2021

Q. Do you have any plans to introduce the remaining aircraft from the Century Series of American jet aircraft? Still left are the F-101 Voodoo, F-102 Delta Dagger, F-105 Thunderchief and F-106 Delta Dart.

  • Yes, we do.

So they remain soft confirmed, with the F-105D added in December 2021, and F-106 added August 2025, were looking at next member of the century series in mid 2029 if the trend keeps going the way it is.

Let alone if we expect neat things like the F-107, F-108 (?XB-70? too, please.) & F-110 as well we’re well stocked to get to 2040.

If it keeps going at its current speed it’s gonna take a century for us to get the whole century series

Lmur is kinda interesting, though its fairly slow. I am nowhere near the other two helis that got fire and forget agms to test them but i can already see that JAGM will be the best just on speed alone.

It would be nice to see these SRAAM missiles on the FG.1/FGR.2 Phantom. This would justify their presence on the same BR with the F-4J, given that the AIM-7F has a much longer range than the base Skyflash.

I went to the forums to check it out myself, and even more people has supported the issues regarding the armor on the crusader tanks being completely wrong and very much insufficient, another year has passed, and gaijin still refuses to fix it. bruh

huh i have noticed that both the Buk and SAMP/T have pretty big dead zones close to them thats one advantage the CAMM has over them and the SLS is with how it launches it should be able to hit very close targets

could be a later gen/modification or (more likely due to it being the dev server) the engine txt data for names hasn’t been updated

More infantry leaks from Olivia

reports in to buff that aspect too

Can we make a push for these? I also find there are tons of accepted reports that almost existed for over 3 years, even the manager said they have already know(guess from the old forum

Its the 45-54VT that seems to be the first torpedo with a parachute added to the game.

Hopefully we will see more in the coming updates!

Ooo been wondering if there would be anything more from Olivia.

The leaks in question for everyone

Pretty much just a bunch of weapons and attachments for infantry.

And also more info about this later this week now so something to keep an eye out for.

So Buk and SAMP/T for medium to long long range and CAMM for shorter to long(ish) range?

I’m happy that I can possibly start grinding all of the new AAs as soon as the update releases if I want. Whenever people figure out which one is the best.

Buk is actually bad, the proxy of the missile turns off at 50m, so you can multipath it without problem.
