Next Major Update - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion (Part 3)

Not really, just stating options other than adding equivalent ships. Is Yamato will pretty much one tap every other naval vessel that fights?

It was the AIM-120A/B it couldn’t carry, as the fins were too big, that was the main difference between the B and C at first was that the C had clipped wings

an iowa with nukes can still be destroyed. the yamato has thicker armor and bigger guns, so itll be harder to put down than an iowa while (if they dont give iowa nuke shells) also having the absolute best firepower ingame

No, because the rounds they fire were specifically designed for plunging fire like most japanese naval shells of that period

apparently, according to F-22 loadout images, it could carry 120A, but only 4 of them

just found this on our discord, don’t really know where its from but its funny

And how exactly would it be destroyed if its literally nuking everything it looks at?

As far as I know, Gaijin doesn’t model that.

storage for nuke shells was only 19 shells total, 10 nuke, 9 practice. so if they wanted to be strict, it would only carry 10 nuke shells, probably for only 1 turret too

so it would have maximum 10 good shots

Adding the yamato with 18 inch armor piercing rounds. That can just go straight through pretty much every battleships armor that’s ever existed. Including its own, because a 16 inch gun can go through the yamato armor. There’s actually a piece of the armor that has a hole. From a 16 inch caliber round. Supposedly. Would be the equivalent of a nuke shell being added.

So the standard AP fired, that’s very different from a literal nuclear warhead

its only 20kt max

Not really considering the fact that you can just aim for ammo racks and then just blow up the ship. It’s pretty equivalent.

Thats enough to wipe out a small town

Any predictions as to the nation which will get the next blegdov? Im gonna say Italy

and battleships are basically floating, armored cities right?.

like i said, only a direct or very close hit can one tap a battleship

Itd take out multiple targets, blast radius is a thing

read what i said. nuclear weapons of that yield are only effective at very close ranges against large, amored naval targets, such as battleships

Id say they are more like boats

Did a quick read of the wiki page.

The detonations against ships were part of Operation crossroads using two 23kt bombs (same type as Fat Man).

The Airburst detonation at 158m above the water was able able to sink the USS Lamson destoryer at 690m and deal heavy damage to the Saratoga Aircraft carrier at 2071m (Burned it to a crisp).
The Cruiser Sakawa was also sunk at a distance of 380m.

The 27m underwater detonation was able to sink the Nagato Battleship at 779m, although it had unrepaired damage from the war and previous detonation.
The Arkansas was also sunk at 237m. Its hull plating was partially ripped away.
The LSM-60, from which the bomb was suspended, got completely vaporized.

Overall, the test noted that all ships within 914 meters in both test sustained serious blast damage, but that those with with their stern oriented towards the explosion took much less damage than those with broadside to the explosion. USS Lamson was oriented broadside. Fires broke out in ships as far as 1.6km away
