Next Major Update - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion (Part 3)

It was the only IR misisle it could carry until 201- something when they put 9X on it

china should recive the PL-8B at the same time israel recives the Python-4, for the ones who dont know the PL-8B also uses a 4 element seeker like the PL-9, PL-5E-II, TY-90, Magic-2. in the Python-4 and AAM-3 case both are still using the good old 2 element seeker from the 80s i mean its not bad but its not the newest technology either, in terms of IRCCM technology the PL-8B, PL-5E-II, TY-90, PL-9 even the Magic-2 are more advanced but we know that gaijin likes to implements IR missiles in a way that is more family friendly to us… soo… we could see them soon and like smin said we should not expect “Any MAJOR DEVELOPMENTS any time soon” but this does not mean that we couldn´t see some of the last 4Gen IR missiles between of what we have now and what its going to come in the future it seems really logic to add the last batch of 4 gen IRs now in march or in may/june before we goes full 5gen IIR in december or much likely next year.

PS: PL-8B is fully produced in china with chinese components and technology, also the engine was upgraded too increasing its range to 20-25km soo… it doesn´t keep the single stage solid propellant engine from the old Python-3, and also features the PL-9 style all-aspect InSb seeker and a programmable digital processor, which offers a wider off-boresight angle. its a really cool missiles and a really improved one because the only thing it keeps from the old Python-3 is the body haha.

Mate, that’s not even closely period correct

Challenge impossible for this community lol

F-16C block 50 can use them

F-15E Strike Eagle can use them

A-10C can probably use them

I’m pretty sure they just put whatever the latest gen of litening is on AV-8B and I think hornets

This is the only uss montana that was laid down in the 20s, as part of the 1920s south dakota class

It can carry two 9s, on pylons that pop them out. It was a 9X that an F-22 used to take down the infamous spy balloon, for example!

Yeah, weird how backwards compatibility is a thing most militaries try to achieve with their equipment

The General Board planned to build four ships to the new design, which would have constituted a single battleship division, but five were authorized by the Two-Ocean Navy Act on 19 July 1940. Work was intended to begin later that year, but shortages of the necessary steel caused delays. Work on the new locks for the Panama Canal was also halted in 1941, also owing to a shortage of steel due to the changing strategic and material priorities.[18][19] The final contract design was issued in June 1942. Construction was authorized by the United States Congress and the projected date of completion was estimated to be somewhere between 1 July and 1 November 1945.[20]

In October 1942, work on the ships was again delayed by the order of some eighty destroyers, which were badly needed for the Battle of the Atlantic against German U-boats that were raiding the supply convoys to Britain.[21] Additional work on the design continued into 1942, including detail work on the anti-aircraft batteries to be carried. The Bureau of Ships suggested the armor decks could be increased in thickness, but these changes were not pursued.[19] All five ships were ultimately cancelled on 21 July 1943, as production priorities had shifted decisively toward aircraft carriers, destroyers, and submarines.[22] The time spent refining the Montana design was not entirely a waste, as the arrangement of the propulsion system was modified for the Midway-class aircraft carriers.[18]

Yeah this just confirms that they were never laid down

They used in midway class carriers

This just shows what i previously stated unfortunately

Sea Hornet NF.21 better Hornet F Mk. III ?

Please provide me with a single picture of them under any form of construction

They could add 22 by summer even, now that it’s been shown to be able to carry 4 AIM-120A + 2 AIM-9M.

It’s armament would be subpar, radar good, rwr good, flight performance in line with others but goes faster on supercruise, and honestly stealth might just be used as a balancing tool so wouldn’t be anywhere near the stated numbers

Also no HMD

I don’t know, I kinda feel weird about 2000s Eurofighters and F-22s being capped to the same armament as planes from the 80s.

Imagine if Leopard 2A7s and T-90Ms were still capped to DM33 and 3BM42, as a ground equivalent.

That being said, better weapons may be difficult to balance and deal with, so I don’t even know what to think about it anymore, hahah.

You will need a thick wallet for this update) If you want to get all of them ofc.
