T-80U has problems at 11.3 because of the optics and gun handling. 3BM46 works fine if you can aim but 3BM60 makes life a bit easier. I’m not sure how 3BM46 performs against 2A7V and so on, I don’t really want to try.
But it’s a typical case where BR compression is the core problem. Nothing wrong with T-80U except that it’s weak compared to basically any 11.7
T-80U was the king of 1985 and stayed on top for a few years, but really wasn’t suited for a potential 1990’s onwards Cold War, I doubt it would have been particularly competitive if the late 80’s and 90’s machines reached mass production.

Except T-80U optics are amazing, what are you talking are the thermals, learn to differentiate them next time.

Personally thermal generation is just a gimmick to me. 1st gen, 2nd gen, 3rd gen… whatever I use them mainly for spotting targets anyway.

I mean you already can’t have a lineup as rhe C2A1 is already in the German tree.
The T-80U is still one of the better 11.3 MBTs. Of course helped by there only being a few good 11.3 MBTs.
An even better T-80U in the forum of the T-80UE-1 is easily 11.7. It would easily be better than already existing 11.7s like the Ariete AMV, Merkava Mk.4M, Challenger 2s and maybe even some of the Leclercs.

Correction the “C2 Mexas” is in the German tree.
For Leos 1’s there is still the C1, C1 Mexas, C2 and Leopard 2’s there is 2A4M CAN and 2A6M CAN.
All of which could go to the UK.

How your thermals looks depends highly on gamma settings and game resolution. For me they are fine
