so wait if the update cycle is broken then the “Second major next year” could very well be the december update
a shift from 4 Big to maybe 2-3 Big updates is absolutely possible
perhaps if we look at the new event cycle we’ll se even less Majors and maybe some small additional updates that for example bring Only AMRAAM and nothing else
as I talked about before Warthunder is kinda reaching the point where more modern vehicles cannot be added anymore, at least for ground vehicles so a shift now would fit into that idea too

ehhh i can see a shift like Wombat says, from 5 to 4 so they can slow down the rate of advancement, especially now as were within half a year of FOX-3, one of the last Major advancements in A2A Combat of the 20th-21st century that the game can reasonably model.

I hope they dont slow things down too heavily. Because any imblanace is going to have a larger impact. Though we know that there is at least 2 updates in the first half of 2024 due to the roadmap.
