Rank 7 to 8 had just over a year in between and thats most recent.

Notching currently doesnt work against any top tier radars without using Chaff anyway, so you are pretty much forced to take chaff if you dont want to stay glued to the floor

That’s not comparable because rank 7 was years late.
Rank 7, as we see now, should’ve came with M1 Abrams which was added in 2018.
Rank 8 is for gen 4 jets and advanced generation tanks.
There is nothing for rank 9 at this time.
Ranks also aren’t determined by BR.

Unlike the f15c, f16c and typhoon, the f18 is a very subpar airframe even with 10x aim120. Taking 10x aim120 would nuke the already mid flight performance.
I would recommend not trying to reason with him. It’s a futile effort.

Speed isn’t as relevant in BVR as much, especially since most BVR IRL is done at mach 0.9 regardless of aircraft.
Us WT players are weird and will punch a missile at mach 1.5 toward the enemy.
WVR reduces significantly with the AMRAAM.
Also don’t post terms that could gaslight others, not helpful to discussion.
A BVR F-18 is going to be better than every single AARH capable jet in WT currently and to come.
Gaijin’s not going to release 8+ AARH carriers next major update cause people beg for it; they’re going to see how 4 & 6 function on jets for months on end before they come to their next jump decision as they did with AIM-9Bs, R-60Ms, with AIM-9Ls, AIM-9M/R-73s, and so forth.
Yeah, no. In Bvr speed and altitude are king. Most bvr being done at .9 mach is bs too. At least in nato, pilots try to have as much energy as physically possible on launch and then they slow down after the missile is launched. Until they fix multipathing, which they likely won’t, we will still have plenty of wvr in war thunder.
