Yes… Not that Id be using the Wyvern or Sea Fury in a 11+ match. What I meant was we dont have an equivalent to the S-250 on the Su-25s or even a relatively large rocket like the Zuni or mighty mouse on any of our higher tier aircraft.
It has an IFV for Britain. So you know its fake just from that :D
Ahh, thought you were talking about the battle pass task, read a bit more now. Really not needed with PGMs though.
For me no, but for the original person I was speaking with, in a German Tornado, it is a bit.
He was struggling with using the Tornado ASSTA1 vs the top tier multiroles that most other nations have currently. Germany doesnt have any F&F A2G weapons on their aircraft I think
(though that being said, I am looking forward to more low alt bomb runs when I have my chaff)
You use chaff? For what? Most missiles now are CW. I usually take more flares since chaff never saved me.
Hopefully in June we will get our missing 1200 Chaff. With seperate controls too, Im hoping that will mean I can switch on periodic release of chaff on approach to do an ultra low level carpet bomb run and confuse any SPAA just long enough to get in and out with a little more safety. All while still having 56 flares (or even 376 flares if the Gr1 gets BOL) to spam out as well.
Doesnt guarantee protection or survival. But sure will help.
Ah yeah, i actually don’t really play ground battles. Most SPAA have pulse radar?
I honestly dont really know. but spamming a load of chaff cant hurt either way.
But yeah, even in air modes. with their really good RWR. The ability to just drop chaff without a care in the world for running out of CMs is gunna help. Especially in ASB
In air sim if I drop chaff I just start attracting friendly SARH missiles because the chaff doesn’t have IFF and the CW seekers send the missiles my way 🤣
Top tier not though because everyone is one PD or MTI.
haha, yeah true. But still gunna be quite a major buff. Especially as you wont see much with PD radar anymore with the new BR brackets Having chaff is gunna make us immune to most BVR threats.
How so? None of the BVR missiles get attracted to chaff.
Honestly asking in case I am missing something.
It should (in theory) break the radar lock for any none-PD radars. Of course you will need to put chaff between you and the radar. But its hopefully gunna make some threats easier to deal with and if absolutely nothing else, having both the Full flare count AND chaff is going to be awesome. Especially as it should be droppable independently. No more wasting CMs.
Yeah but the non PD radars locking the chaff still have the CW missiles go for the greatest dopplershift return and ignore chaff.
The locking cone is waaaay wider than the little lock box we see.
They shouldnt, At least i dont think they should at least.
They do, i have seen it several times and misinterpreted it at first and blamed Gaijin.
It’s a complex effect of CW seekers modeled in properly (unlike in DCS)
Interesting
Yeah, chaff is useless imo, unless you expect to go up against R3R’s or 530F’s.
Most people know this and don’t bring chaff. Atleast in sim.
I still tend to, I feel kinda exposed without it. Though if you are in a Tornado and you are getting fired at, you dead most of the time anyway. BOZ pods are akready a bit of a debate whether its worth it. Or if the extra speed is better
SPAA, really have no experience with those so perhaps in those cases it might be good.
I value the higher flare count more because even against IRCCM they are somewhat usefull. Chaff against CW seekers is 100% useless even if it’s a regular pulse radar locking you.
I just wish they worked against the Ai Radar SPAA in SB
