F-18 might be possible before a multi-role Typhoon (remember the first 1 or 2 Typhoons wont really have ground attack either)
Im hoping for another round of Tornados end of the year. Like the Tornado Gr4 and ASSTA3.1 Which I hope will come with weapon systems like IRIS-T and ASRAAM. Though with the split BRs for air and ground, those now might not be necessary. but even without those, they’d atleast hopefully get some better A2G.
I am surprised that Germany never used any kind of stand-off weapon other than Taurus on their Tornados. Italy and Britain both kinda went wild with their loadouts
I know, but current tornash*t cant be compared with current Gen4 multirole-fighter for GRB. thats like you might be able to drop your bomb from 14km but you ended turn with big turn radius and end up being shoot by AIM9M, R-73 or even R24. Nothing can this plane doin with small amount of flares and 2 AIM9L (even this plane more like post war jet who flying without radar in the game eventhough IRL it has multiple radar mode)
the F-18 of switzerland doesnt realy have a2g capability lol, its a pure air fighter as far as i am aware
the only solution would be an argentinian F16C there is no other choice for a better cas plane for germany
That wont necessarily stop gaijin. Just look at the Gripen
grippen can carry them, cant it?, remember the hornet wasnt a2g capable, the multi role was the specific job of the super hornet

I only ever found one picture and one guy that claimed the use of JDAMs on the tornados and that picture was a test from WTD 61 on the incoming ASSTA 4
Just had quick thought as well. Whilst you can only take 1 on the Tornado. the GBU-24s have IOG. So you can lock onto a target, drop it and then run away. Just dont start lasing another target
yes, jdams are tested and officaly named as in use by the bundeswehr
most of the times, if you laser the target the laster stays on either way, if you dont do a roll u normaly dont necesarily lose the lock
