Next Major Update - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion (Part 2)

What we want I mean need, is full classic coke Scorpion 76 (with a LRF and thermals would be funi though)

What better way to enjoy the Falklands map other then going around in a Scorpion with BESH bonking Argentine TAMs?

i remember sitting here and getting a trailer at 23:13 or sum
Edit: 22:55

Ruins the probability for a proper ground line.
I hope that’s not the case personally.

ehh, dunno

the line of contact update teaser dropped at like midnight for me in CET if i remember correct

Smin working on something now

I mean, yeah, that’s what happens when Gaijin spends years focusing on ground over air, then reverses and has air catch up. The base M1 Abrams was added in 1.77, whereas the first supersonic aircraft (MiG-19PT and F-100D) weren’t added until 9 months later in 1.85 (14th March 2018 vs 17th December 2018 respectively). The update after the F-100D was added, the Leo 2A5, CR2, M1A1, T-80U, and Tunguska would all get added, together with the T-2 for Japan.

Air getting the main focus for the last couple years is just a reverse of ground getting the majority of new tech and additions from like 2016 until 2020-ish. Pretty soon, both air and ground will be in a pretty similar position with modern mainline vehicles being available, so things should hopefully even up and everyone will get similar additions.

That’s because, between 2018 and now, air has undergone drastic changes that required major adjustments, whereas ground has remained fundamentally the same.

Leopard 2A5 and M1A2 were introduced in 2019. Since then, we’ve had M1A2 SEP, Leopard 2A6, M1A2 SEPv2, Leopard 2A7V, M1A2 SEPv3… and what has actually changed? Better thermals, thicker armor, higher penetration… the gameplay is still fundamentally the same. Ground went from the 1990s to the 2020s in roughly the same timeframe that air went from the 1960s to the 2010s, yet ground gameplay and vehicle characteristics have barely changed compared to air.

There’s a reason why all former and current Top Tier MBTs all clustered around the same BR. Leopard 2A6 was Top BR in 2020 and it’s still Top BR in 2026.

Aircraft, meanwhile, have gone through far more significant technological and gameplay shifts:

First, supersonics as the first big step in 2018;
Then, Pulse-Doppler radarsp;
Then, all-aspect Fox-2s;
Then, high-performance Fox-1s;
Then, Fox-3s;
Then, AESA radars;
Soon, stealth…

Each of these represented a major shift requiring substantial changes and adaptation.

Ground Top Tier, meanwhile, hasn’t meaningfully changed since 2018, when the M1 Abrams, T-80B, Challenger, and Leopard 2A4 defined the top end. In that same timeframe, Air Top Tier has gone through roughly five major paradigm shifts.

It’s going to be funny if they drop the teaser at the same time as the GTA 6 trailer.

GTA 6 trailer before the trailer would be peak irony after everything we’ve gotten before GTA 6
