Next Major Update - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion (Part 2)

Because we have had 4 news items today. Including two specials, a blog and the return of Nuclear Escalation.

Its not all about blogs. Considerations need to be given to overloading a day with news, that needs to be posted in several different formats, translated and posted into several languages, comments monitored and followed on all of those platforms and languages.

Its not just a case of simply throwing as much stuff out as possible.

Well you can always wait for the dev stream or update changelog.

Except they are super inconsistent with this. The A-10C could carry GBU-53 without modification. All F-18s in game could carry the AGM-123 Skipper without modification. The AH-1Z can carry JAGM without any modification. And I can guarantee you that there are more examples I can’t think of off the top of my head. Also, in the past, they have denied vehicles getting munitions because the nation it belonged to never used them, despite the vehicle still being able to use them without modification.

My point being, there is no real reason for them doing that. There might be a rule that says somewhere that to get a munition, a vehicle has to just be able to use it without modifications. Or it might say the operator country actually has to use them IRL. Either way, it does not matter because Gaijin just does whatever it feels like, despite what rules they may or may not have laid out previously.

the air subtree?

LJDAM too but it was missed out when it was added to a bunch more aircraft a few updates ago.

Hi smin, my friend found a misspelling while hanging in CDK, can you pass this to devs?

Again, you’re conveniently skipping over the core of my message.

Method 1: You release daily blogs on 1 specific item followed by a Trailer and comprehensive blog(dev stream), the current method

Method 2: You release the Trailer followed by individual blogs and then the comprehensive dev stream.

If you think releasing daily blogs about a single item will reach more players than a trailer showing multiple items, and therefore have a better chance of appealing to the community as a whole, I don’t know what to tell you.

I expect the worst from Gaijin and am therefore never disappointed. This also falls into the “care less about the game” category. If you don’t want to be disappointed, just don’t be invested in the development cycle and wait for release attitude

Please report any texture bugs here: Community Bug Reporting System

You can use the CDK or vehicle spesific options:

Uh, probably gonna wait a bit so XL will be avalible for bug reporting, but thanks

While on the topic of textures, the AIM-120C-7 on the claws actually says AIM-120C-5 on its model lol

Because technical compatibility only adds a basis for a weapon to be added, it doesn’t mean it will be added, it just can.

I don’t recall these, any examples?

Nothing has been skipped. You have a personal preference and that’s ok to have. Its an established fact that blogs after the trailer are less impactful than those before. Many of the vehicles shown before the trailer are naturally the ones of less impact, that would otherwise get less attention. Showing them after the trailer and after the major reveals impacts them even more. So there is little to be gained there from doing it as you suggest.

Putting all the blogs after the trailer also means significantly longer waits until anything can be shown to people for the next major update. Which is going to lead to even more people being frustrated. Since the trailer and dev streams are towards the later parts of the seasons and cannot be brought forward.

The only one I can think of off the top of my head (although no longer relevant since the addition of the GBU-53) is the F-16C Block 50 and the F-15E are technically compatible with the Spice 250, yet that addition was denied.

I can’t seem to find where it was rejected so I can’t really say if that was because “they didn’t have them” or not. If they added Spice 250s and were planning GBU-53s, it wouldn’t be surprising if they just held off on Spice 250s till the GBU-53s.

Israels air tree starts at 3.3 br wise
Can’t see why Greece can’t start around the same br either

They should first up radar the Block 50 to V9

They are mistaken as Spice-250s require integration, it’s marketed as compatible as the platforms are one that are meant to be able to be integrated with it seamlessly. These are not aircraft that you could strap it to and could use it by default without any sort of software updates.

Regarding LJDAM for the A-10C it isn’t even a case of technical compatibility it was actually used in combat and pictured numerous times on the aircraft.

While yes it doesn’t always mean it will be added for the case of the A-10C it’s missing an integral part of it’s mission loadout and a very useful one at that for in-game.

I can agree on that, but I wouldn’t say the devs are inconsistent on Tech.Compat because they didn’t include everything, then NATO would just all have MICAs.

or, heavens forbid, USA aircraft receiving a foreign weapon after it’s been integrated and tested on that aircraft for another operator.

(Looking at you, F-35s)
