It will be even easier for SPAA to intercept a full volley of ATGMs launched with MITL than if they were all launched with LOS. Since you can only MITL the last missile, if you were to launch from behind cover, you have to launch your missile, enter the MITL cam, wait for a target to be visible, lock them, and only then can you launch another missile. So there would be a large gap between each missile launched.
This is what we have to resort too after they stopped the old method when they switched to the new wiki.
It is allowed still since the XL is already in the game files that are on the live server and custom hangars are allowed. Mixing the two together is fine.

That depends, you can terrain mask to get in close while keeping out of LOS, this way you can launch and select a new terminal target in short order. A bit map and tactics dependant, but as with all systems employing new tactics is more potent rather than trying to max stand off at 32km shooting one missile at the time.
Tbf it doesn’t matter anyways, helicopters still are basically invisible on radar and immune to all IR missiles which is just a blatant lie.
What I was trying to say is that, even from up close, it will be easier to intercept 1 missile launched every 5-10 seconds via MITL than it would be to intercept 16 missiles spammed in 5-10 seconds with LOS.
True but the real galaxy brain move is to fire a hand full of LMM as decoys and mix a couple SPIKE NLOS in.
