I don’t really know what to call it. It was more like a testing bed for a few next-gen flanker components as well as weapons compatibility. Iirc, they tested some of the newer TVC components on it too.
I know the main issue with it overall was the specific AL-31 type that it had was too powerful and ran too hot on it.
Imo, it’s basically in the same boat as the Su-33. Like does the Su-33 exist? Yes. Was it a production variant? Yes (Su-37 was not). But it’s numbers are low, it’s service life was incredibly short. And it was basically the Su-27K, just renamed.
A lot of the Su-27K/Su-33 was more of a proof of naval fighter concept than an honest production Flanker at optimal specs.
Speaking of Su-27K’s, it would be pretty funny to see T10-7K in cheap slapdash Ukrainian livery circa 2004 (at least as a skin option) in the Chinese TT.
until Secret Soviet documents reveal that Yeltsin dreamt about weaponry for it.

Too bright and light, and barely any anti-slip surface at all when it should have the heaviest/densest coating
