Next Major Update - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion (Part 2)

Gaijin is certainly allergic to actual succesful stuff

Ever heard of streaming? Ironically, the UE5 has a feature called “world partition”. There you can stream in and out parts of the world which are inside or outside your visibility. Like this, you can keep the usage of memory and computing power comparably low while having virtually no limit on the map size.

Have you ever played Arma Reforger? I ask because the maps on that game are HUGE even with vehicles. On console, it does run a little janky at times (mostly when someone is running a rocket heli on an objective), but most of the time it runs smoothly and looks amazing. How are they able to do that, but Gaijin can’t? This is a genuine question, just trying to learn and understand.

Im not from yesterday or the 70’s but thanks. Its rather the doubt gaijin would give 2 fks about optimizing, they already dont really do this besides air maps beign low quality

All this aside, blind hunt mission with a buddy is peak war thunder

Wasn’t my intention to sound offensive.

On that we agree. For how this game looks the FPS are way too low in comparison.

The game is really reliant on strong single-core performance, i mean yeah thats most modern CPU now but i assume barely a fraction of this community actually has a “modern” cpu

I haven’t played it, but I have seen it

AFAIK the maps are way smaller and the system requirements are much higher

Arma also probably doesn’t have nearly as much of a render distance as WT because it doesn’t need it

reforger recommended specs are i7-6700 and 1070Ti, but let me tell you, a 5600x and 1080ti struggled to run it actually fluid, it really needs beefier specs than it says

Meanwhile WTs minimum specs are a dual core and a 13 year old GPU lol

real

What would a computer with this type of equipment cost?

around 500 usd

Well, but this is the result of steams hardware survey from January 2026:

Spoiler

grafik

Six (28,45%) and eight (26,67%) cores are more than double the share than four (13,43%) cores and two (3,16%) cores is negligible as even sixteen (5,43%) cores is more often used.

More, the ram alone is gonna set you back like 100 bucks, probably more

i7-6700 16gb ram and a 1070ti? like 500 with current pricing
5600x 32gb ram and 1080ti? closer to 700 with current prices
(thanks AI datacenters)

completely forgot about that lol
the 32 gb kit of ddr 5 6000 cl30 ram i got last year for around 100 bucks now costs over 500. Insane price hike man.
