Dutch MLU could be a bit different to the Belgian MLU
Dutch MLUs had different ECM/RWR (Carapace was exclusive to Belgian F-16s, Dutch ones had the regular AN/ALR-69 most F-16s have), and didn’t equip GBU-39. And they had GBU-49 Enhanced Paveway in addition to JDAM.
Potentially they might give it a different targeting pod too. Belgian F-16AM is currently stuck with LANTIRN rather than the Sniper pod they used later in service. Dutch used LANTIRN, Litening, and Sniper at different points in the jet’s post-MLU service.
This pre-MLU event vehicle might have been more interesting if it was an F-16B to be honest. But at least it’ll probably have a cool RNLAF F-16 Solo Display camo

hi smin, is it known if the dutch f-16a will receive pw-200 engine instead of 220 that currently are on bl10, bl15 f-16s?
the specific one shown (j-226) was delivered in 1980 and the pw-220 is from 1984+ and it could make for a more unique variant :D

Probably gonna skip it myself, it is the Chinese new year as the blog suggests and the logical thing to do is to spend time with my family(and my friends on cyberstan)
Tbf there are quite a lot of horse-named vehicles but they are mostly tanks(chonma-ho etc)
I’m expecting it to start at 15 GJN tbh, nothing particularly special about a non-premium F-16A
Should be a worse copy of the F-16A(BEL), which is already free to get as a SQV, I am halfway down the rafale so idk

BVVD did mention that there were plans to add such bombers as “collectibles”

Yeah, I think the event vehicle is a pre-MLU. Says it’s a Block 5, with the air-to-ground weapons the Belgian squadron F-16 OCU doesn’t have. So it’ll likely be almost the same as the Block 10 in the US tree.
I was on about a hypothetical premium Dutch F-16AM/MLU and how it could be different to the Belgian F-16AM, and this Dutch Block 5.
This event one looks like it will be what the TT Belgian F-16 is supposed to be armed with, instead of having PIDS and JDAMs that should only be on the F-16AM/MLU.
The current set of Belgian F-16 models are a bit weird to be honest. The tech tree F-16A is modelled with “Rapport III” ECM antennas on the intake that were removed from Belgian F-16s quite early on ~1990-1993. But it has the enlarged Block 15 stabilators, so it’s not one of the really early Block 5 or Block 10 batches.
So the model is partially representing the planes earlier than the Belgian F-16 OCU, (which did Magic II trials in 1989) but has more expansive armament options than the Squadron F-16 OCU. And as I said, many of those loadouts it does have, were actually only integrated after the MLU that began in 1997.

That is a good point, the french havent got a prem jet in quite a long time, with that being said, some mirage 2000, perhaps the one operated by Egypt or India can also be the candidate since the tank already takes a spot of a foreign copy
