ive wanted to see what the gimbal limits are for the apg 82v1 for the f15ex, but im not sure if theres any documents for it, i assume itll retain 70 degrees like the apg 63v3
I like to bring 120C-5 in planes like my AESAphoon and F-15C GE.
However in my 18E I found like they got me killed more than they helped me.
Isn’t it not gimbaled at all? I thought it was a fixed plate so ±60° / ±70° at best.
why bring them on the typhoon or f15? unless youre doing bvr
If you’re going above mach 1.5 the 120c5 is just better than 120a/b except at point blank.
i heard it was a mix of the f18es radar and the f15cge’s, which are both 70 degrees so im rly not sure
Bruh every new thing I learn about this new F-16 only makes it worse.
So not only does it have the lowest missile count at 14.3-14.7, but it also has the worst AESA radar at those BRs?

Yeah I usually do BVR in those planes.
Even then I don’t take full 120C in either of them (besides that fact that I haven’t unlocked the 120C mod in my AESAphoon).

If you’re going above mach 1.5 the drag reduction on the c-5 matters a lot more and its faster through most of its travel. the aim120a/b will almost stop midair after about 40km due to drag. the c-5 will go a lot further and do it in less time if you’re launching both from mach 1.5+.
is it better for 20km and below shots? i want to test that on statshark
