They’re working on it, even the QnA said they were working on it. It’s not a question of if, but when.
As for when, certain unofficial sources say they are almost done. Datamines from late last year showed that many UI elements were also complete. So if submarines were added soon, it wouldn’t be surprising. Or Gaijin could hold off on them. Nobody can say for sure just yet.
I’m curious if the devs have any plans to implement more modern datalink features, and/or expand what we do have to other vehicles.
Some examples would be
Friendly reporting positions (eg. what the Eurofighters and A-10C have in their HMDs)
Enemy positions reported by friendlies (ie. a general direction where enemies have been spotted by radar)
Friendlies providing DL to each others missiles (potentially giving assists)
This could also go into the improvement of HMD modeling. For example, JHMCS is pretty outdated and missing features on the F-15s and F-16s. Are there any plans to update those as well?
Hey. This would generally be something like a major feature that would be covered in a dedicated blog or CM news if we had something to say on it, not typically something to answer here where the info would not be avalable to most of the playerbase.
So currently there is nothing to say on that for now.
Understandable. I’m glad it’s not an outright “no” at the very least.
The main things for me are that advanced DL would emphasize teamwork more, and it would mitigate a lot of the shortcomings that US aircraft have in terms of radar gimbal limits and situational awareness.
