Oh

There fixed it.

@SPANISH_AVENGER
what was that about ?

"I want sweet news… on those “transmission and mobility dynamics” mechanics they were working on!

Including but apparently not limited to Regenerative Steering, maybe even Hyperbar and CVTs, maybe even Hydrogas? AAAAAAAH!"

Was there news on the mechanics they’d work on ? Or did you hype me for nothing ?

It was mentioned, yes!

Unfortunately, the implementation of this will be subjected to a community vote, so… there’s a risk the playerbase will auto-sabotage again by voting against it because change=bad.

I’ve already seen many actually genuine comments arguing AGAINST regenerative steering, etc, so… it’s an actual risk, yep.

I’ve heard about region steering, but I had not heard of CVT and Hyperbaric. I hope those two at least get modelled, they would be major QoL on their respective MBTs

How come I haven’t heard of this before? I hate it when I miss stuff out :(

Indeed!

Type 10 and Leclerc’s main selling points is their mobility.

And Challenger 2’s would also improve with hydrogas!

Were those mechanics implementation talked about recently, or was it at the same time as regenerative steering ? Cause I don’t remember it.

It was talked about during the end of last year, I believe around the November update ? where they said they were working on it but would have a vote on its implementation, as while regen steering would make turning much, much smoother, it would also negatively impact turning radius at speed

While i would not mind regen steering myself i also understand why people would vote against it. Because if past implementations of some mechanics (overpressure and volumetric) are anything to go by gaijin could very well give us something worse than what we already have.

Wheel traction moment

tanks not climbing 30° slopes while they can do 60° slopes IRL never doesn’t look stupid

you mean 60% right?, thats ~31 degrees

yes sorry 30% and 60% ahah, in degrees its a bit stupid

The new style of modules is another one. I still remember people being excited for it purely because it would nerf the 2S38 without realizing that it would end up effecting other vehicles. In the end it ended up buffing the 2S38 and only really adding more random rng modules to eat shells on other vehicles. The one exception being turret baskets which gaijin still refuses to add to more than 2 MBTs.

And to make it worse they are putting the new modules on random planes at random intervals instead of all at the same time…

Marketing lie. Doesnt exist

The churchill being able to climb as well as it did? Nah never happened

Gaijin: Should we add modules to light vehicles that feature way too much empty space?

Community: Aye!

Gaijin: Okay, we’ll add modules to MBTs, helicopters and planes!

even then 30% is 15 degrees or so, which tanks can do in game

60% is 31 degrees, and is also somewhat doable (i can’t find a quick slope thats 60%)

Bearing in mind that 60% is the rating for modern tanks on road not dirt

but its varing terrain that buggers traction, IIRC on tracks theres only really 2 points per track that have traction (forward and rear),

That and terrain doesn’t deform to collapse slopes to ones that are less steep

though there are some surfaces in some terrain with artificially low traction, a lot of places in game do have too much traction, and meet traction for vehicles

Not every terrain will have the same (example) 60% slope rating, some surfaces can’t hold a vehicle on that slope, or the track doesn’t have enough purchase
