Their warheads TNT equivalent is way too small to overpressure anything that isn’t open-topped and being FnF means that you cannot guide them towards a weakspot
The problem here is that WT crews don’t bail when their tanks’ armour gets penetrated or certain components get broken
I forgot about the Saudi Lightning, well makes even more sense then to just put the premium Typhoon and future event/Squadron Tornado in the British tree.
Saudi operate so many different airframes they can be shared about between nations
In the real world it is a massive leap from a C model 120 to a D model.
These missiles have to be good, they have to be great. This is to save US win rates.
Being War Thunder though who knows how they will model them, if modelled correctly the F-15EX will become the best jet in game by a large margin having 12-16 AIM-120D with a publicly available range of 180km (and we all know the US downplays the capability of their systems to the public)
just as massive as the Capability leap between 120C5 and A/B?
do you really believe Gaijin suddenly starts giving it the ability to turn? even tho they literally Rejected the Idea that AMRAAMs can do that because small fins
do you think the GNSS guidance will be a usable advantage? what makes you come to this idea?
I dont think there’ll be a Noticable capabillity diffrence at all to the other AMRAAMs
I think the Su-30SM2 and EFT will still be ahead due to their radars just being so much better. (going from a normie AESA to a gimbal AESA was mind blowing in my experience)
I wouldn’t be suprised if they limit the F-15EX to “just” 12 missiles and that would honestly be fine balance wise. We don’t need the next meta shift, we just need something for the US to be able to at least compete with the EFT/Rafale/Su-30SM2.
This argument is like Egypt should join USSR with F-16 and M1 Abrams because there exists 2 “Egyptian” premiums or Poland is a British sub tree because of again 2 British made vehicles.
Yeah the Radars on the Typhoon and Su-30SM2 are excellent, It will be interesting to see how they implement the IRST POD (Legion) and allow F-15EX to guide 120s using the POD.
But yeah if this fails and the missile fails US mains will be screaming for the F-22 and we don’t want to start the Gen 5 power creep
