This was before Malaysia too, which was since also confirmed, making it three subtrees total which is so far only technically matched by France (Luxembourg is only a technicality) and Sweden (Denmark isn’t confirmed yet).
Britain would still have more in theory, but Australia and Canada aren’t subtrees.
Between us and the swedes if we count politics puts us at about 57 with each other. (Though it should be around 40 or so) I mean we’ve been Targeting each other for a while
Also only every 17 years for a war? Why not like 7 wars in 15 years? Like us
Yeah no come-on at least make your point in good faith don’t move the Goal post now
also as stated in my original post doesn’t inc small conflicts or where the French was a 3rd party such as the American revolution and many others plus if we added up overall time spent at war as well.
Then it’s 48 times total without civil wars and just standard wars, you said 30-40? But what’s the exact for Britain?
Edit: I missed the 16th century wars
Wiki for Britain vs France is 35.
Though some of these don’t really seem like wars so I’m not sure how reliable this is, few other sites give me 16 which definitely seems wrong and then another is 41 which seems more close but a few “wars” are more so political
If I remember the Hundred Years war ended up being 116 years with some ceasefires in between. Hence how we end up with disputed figures on how many actual wars there were (probably)
