If there’s a heli at 4km, guns are only effective out to 2km and a manpad can’t lock until 1-2.5km

The battle rating should be based on performance though, not on where it fills a hole the best

Have you tried ground simulator? Depending on the BR the aircraft are really challenging to use, so their effectiveness isn’t that good.
And IMO if someone can fly a propeller plane with full real controls, spot my tiny little tank on the ground, and then take me out then they’ve earned the kill :)
What slightly worries me about this new Russian/Soviet SPAA is, at least according to Wikipedia, it has missiles capable of going up to like 60-70km. And like how the Pantsir was allowed to sit undisputed for well over a year, we could see Gaijin letting that happen all over again. I dont want to see NATO or Western SPAAs dominating over eastern nations as a form of retribution but I also dont want to go back to Russia/Soviet Union domination either.

Finding good ways to balance CAS vs AA is what needs to happen. Not throwing one or the other out.
I mean SAMP/T has like a 120km(?) Range so.
