No. We can take GBU-62s that technically the Typhoon never used IRL (I actually have no idea why they were given to the Typhoon. More evidence it used Spice than GBU-62s) . But then its 4-6x glide bombs vs 28.
and only when looking at the Typhoon. GR4 doesnt get any glide bombs. All that gets is 6x PW4s
Except they don’t? You are still able to use the GPS system to do a massive pass against battlefields. And in my experience people don’t even bother covering convoys the way they do battles
So why are they any better than GBU-39s already in game?
Defend them, no? But go for the likely free kill? Absolutely. I know I do. If im in the F3 and see an Su-39 kill ground targets I vector straight for it. Free kill every time
I know the US must be superior to every other nation in your book. But im just after bringing some aircraft up to parity to what other nations already have in game.
A theory: maybe the trailer looks a bit lower quality coz the original edit had the Thai VT-4 and they delayed it, so had to redo some portions?
Or Not
The ONLY option for anything even close to GBU-39s is Spear-3s.
If there was anything weaker, then Id suggest that.
Though again. The advantages are almost entirely mitigated by game limitations and the F-15E can still carry nearly twice as many GBU-39s. (especially as usually it wouldnt be worth bringing more than 12)
I ask for MMW Brimstone 1s or SAL Brimstone 2s, you ask for GBU-53s.
The range of SPEAR 3 is higher, and the biggest advantage is that you don’t need to gain altitude to reach the useful range, unlike a normal glide bomb. You can hug terrain and then pop up 50km away, shoot, and turn back
Range is totally irrevelant. The maximum lock range on the TPod is 30km. The maximum range you could employ them against anything other than a CCRP target is 30km.
Id have no issue with a hard range limit to mitigate people exploiting them in ASB against the AF like the F-15Es already do with GBU-39s. (say, cap the Spear-3s to 40km) they wont be of any use vs bases like the Grom-1s were either.
This is such a minor advantage for a GPS guided weapon and would it be so bad for aircraft that have 0 FnF AGMs to have a single advantage with their GPS weapon?
Remember the Typhoon carries neither AGM-65s or AGM-130?
and again. Is still 0 reason to not add SAL Brimstone 2s to all 4 aircraft
Also, lets compare GBU-39 vs PW4 if you want to compare range for GPS guided weapons
