Why buffing the AH1Z with a longbow pod and JAGM MRs would be a great option
Fair enough, thanks.
We might be back
Im actually so hyped for the dev stream
Real shocker, helis getting annihilated by proper SAMs and SPAAs?
Maybe that’s how it should be. But maybe I’m just delusional for thinking that anti air should counter CAS.
FnF on helis is not the way to go, helis being able to just hover behind cover, peek out, spam missiles and then re-arm is stupid as hell. The same goes for planes.
This whole situation of certain CAS being “underpowered” is a direct result of this BS CAS vs AA arms race and the people that were fueling that arms race now have to reap what they sowed and find new ways to use their now “underpowered” CAS in ways that doesn’t instantly get them killed.
I get your point but most of the time in an apache you don’t get to fire a hellfire and attackhelicopters are literally made for taking out sam sites and other stuff (correct me if I’m wrong)
I can still sit behind a mountain and poke have a SLM fire then sit low and he’ll run out of ammo and be defenseless and ive done this in an AHS. Its how ive pulled a 7 kill game. Maps can make Helicopters strong or very expoaed and weak.
and the problem with air it seems is that they only care about how aircraft interact with GRB.
The next logical steps would be:
- SEAD Gameplay (but nope, would be unfair on SAMs in GRB)
- ECM ( nope would make it harder for SAMs in GRB)
- ASM (nope, not usable in GRB)
- CBUs (nope, somehow too good for GRB)
Im sure somehow people would argue more ESA and Gen 5 IRs would be too OP because of GRB and nothing actualy do with ARB/ASB.
Just getting annoying as an air main, sitting twiddling my thumbs for tanks to be added, so that I can finally get fixes and new featuers for aircraft. Its just wierd.
We are now there, the giant hoop we’ve been waiting for. New SAMs, but nope. Got to wait another 3 years for more new SAMs to be added
Attack helis are absolutely not made to take out sam sites, wth are you on about ?!
don’t even have the 1Z, only got the AH-1G (spaded 3 times due to multiple modification additions), the 1B (haven’t even spaded that) the 1C, and the AH-64A, it just takes so long to spade something now, i don’t have the time i used to
Make use of the map terrain or just don’t spawn helis. You aren’t supposed to have an easy time countering SPAA, unless you are sitting in a tank yourself.
Sorry sorry i was just getting that picture when thinking of operation desert storm
If ground was their excuse Sweden wouldn’t have the worst or 2nd worst (depends on how China players feel) CAS. Sweden didn’t need a worthles 14.0 hornets and a gimped 14.0 with BOL, they needed a EFT competitor which just so happens to be a better CAS vehicle than whats available so your logic is flawed. Same deal with China and their aircraft
Well the correct thing would be to use long range guided weaponry like cruise missiles, JSOW’s, or HARM’s to destroy enemy air defences. Attack helicopters are meant to destroy tanks, light vehicles, and infantry as well as structures if necessary
Its weird how i can fly within 4km with the AHS and still not die to SPAA because i can abuse a mountain or building
Though id love some FnF so its easier for free kills lol
I know i’m not stupid like everyone else who flies over the map and goes for a heli run but there have been many times where i’ve been behind a mountain and i pop up for like 2 seconds and then i die cause an anti air has launched on me
(With radar of btw)
Move positions if possible. You need to catch them off guard and force them to stay vigilant
New doesn’t always mean better.
Unless you think we should count the Rapier as a new SAM as well alongside the Spyder, EldE and Tan Sam? In that case we could cancel the sky sabre addition no?
Yeah, funny that.
It’s almost like the strategy that works for planes also should work for helis.
I’m sure everyone would love to have that ability. But I’m also sure that nobody enjoys being killed by the equivalent of FPS snipers head glitching all day
I wonder if we will see JAGM expanded to other aircraft. Supposedly there’s plans for it to be integrated on other helicopters like the MH-60 DAP and AH-6M but nothing concrete yet. (Also surprisingly the V-22 though certain it would be the MV-22 variant.)
