No Aussie Hornets also had it
The maps in GRB aren’t even that big. So if it’s 45km or 10000, it’s not as if you can out range it.
Also they will add anti radiation missiles soon after they add all these new SPAAs.
great use of that clip X)
My favourite
So balance to you is: spaa is up = cas is not usable? You have no idea how video games work, every element needs to have its place and skill should be what determines what is usable to what extent, like we already had ok balance between for example Pantsir vs US cas, both can use strategies to avoid each other while EFFECTIVELY trying to destroy each other, with these sam systems it means if you climb even for a few seconds to acquire anything you will be dead, a 15000 m/s missiles will get to you in no time, and even if you shot all of your ammunition, which are mavericks and glide bombs, they will all be easily shot down or just avoided. This discussion is silly, its so clear how broken the dynamic is…
(Also SACLOS sam had a gameplay element of targeting that meant the more skill at guiding the missile = better chance for a kill, the new sam system is just clicking on a list, which is another silly element of this nonsense )
IDK about Buk, but if that makes you feel any better, the Arabel (radar used on early SAMP/T systems) is quite garbage, with what seems to be a 40ish km range against fighter sized targets
Pantsir had a 13km range from 2023 - Sept/Oct 2024, then a 16km range until present against jet CAS; longer against helicopters and drones.
Pantsir never had a 30km range.
Fixed CS/SA5 has the same range as at least old Pantsir [might not be the 16km Pantsir is today].
Spyder is the worst performing 12.0 spaa, with the lowest amount of kills per match.
too many bugs too count, i dont know why they added the spyder in this condition.
no i-derby-er (which is the missile the spyder should have) no aesa radar, python 5 has an highly unstable flight which makes it lose all of it’s energy right at the start, Spyder can launch rockets not only in 90 degree angle, and missing radar scanning to about -25. thing is butchered
i have a question, does the ER/SR etc etc stand for Extended range, Short range and so on? never looked into it
yeah i know that mutch
As it currently stands, helis will have the upper hand on buk, CAMM and Asters, planes not so much.
If it were for me, CAS would be the same SP as the rest, but wouldn’t really bring any advantage to the table and would have to struggle to kill
Now Gaijin being Gaijin, it seems we are stuck in the “powercreep spiral” again
These systems do have a range that make them look OP, but ARH in this game are quite trash, especially compared to IIR (Multipath, RWR warning, Notching, And helicopters basically being invisible when not moving)
Great on paper, but with a lot of exploitable weaknesses basically
The only silver lining I am seeing here is that, in an surface-to-air configuration, they arent getting the full range they can get. Just like the C-5/7 came reach 105km as an A2A missile, on ground its just under half that.
Yeah you have no idea how video games work, WT should be a balanced game not your LARP fantasy
50G’s for Britain pain and suffering
Not exactly. It’s not a problem with the missile (Aster is pure SAM anyway, not carried on planes)
It’s the rotating radar that can’t see further than 40km. Assuming Gaijin models it correctly, you would basically be invisible outside of 40km.
Of course they’d have to make the maps bigger (i’m surprised they haven’t already)

- SR → Short Range
- MR → Medium Range
- LR → Long Range
- ER → Extended Range
Looks like we are going to have a late nighter, this is so annoying
Thanks a ton :D
