Next Major Update - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion (Part 2)

Exactly. Thats kinda the point.

Just a little equitity is all we are asking for.

US got 3 last major. Germany looks like it might be getting 3 this major.

Britain got 1 premium last major and maybe nothing this major
France got nothing last major and maybe nothing this major.
etc etc

True which I’ve shot one down in air battles with a P-16 lol, but for real though I hope we don’t get F-35’s for Christmas

Yeah, like… when they start mentioning Mosquito variants and stuff, I’m like… I can do that too for the U.S, behold;

"Where’s P-40B? Where’s P-40C (one with more than 14 overpriced units available on the Marketplace)? Where’s P-40D? Where’s P-40N? Where’s F-2G2? Where’s… " and I have no idea about WW2 planes; if I knew anything about them, I would probably be able to name 30, hahah.

Yeah I’d rather have F-22 Christmas and F-35 later since they need to have mechanics added and refined before it can come in all it’s $2 trillion glory

Why I rather have the F-35 before the F-22’s

F-22 can be added in an early version with significantly weaker missiles (what we have now) but tbh F-35 is kind of pointless unless it comes with more modern weaponry

F-35 also depends more on fancy tech stuff which isn’t really done well or even in-game at all in some cases. I’ve been keeping track of new mechanics and all boxes have been checked for the raptor

For instance, i didn’t read the change from Gaijin’s stance on introducing SPAAs from ‘all nations’ to ‘most’ up until today, and honestly it was dissapointing as FINALLY a ground improvement would’ve been added simultaneously for every nation.
But they backed up. Anyway.

Well if you start to go into variants like that for US the same end result occurs but 100% UK should be getting stuff

Just because some nations only had the Eurofighter for top tier shouldn’t mean they get nothing.

When all nations have plenty of unique and C&P that could have been added to fill out their ranks.

Many of the updates nations got nothing, they could have been padded out with some reskins at worst.

A stroll through the suggestions section easily shows plenty that could have been added, just not top tier.

But instead they get no content, then fewer people play the nations, leaving only the dedicated to the nation and in turn the players get good, vehicles BR gose up(and here starts the BR loops, that make even less play the nation).

Yeah, at least they seem to be doing a good job with naval.

They might have actually learnt from the mistakes of the past in that regard.

But yeah… They dropped the ball on the SPAA and even if for Britain, the Skysabre just wasnt ready in time. Why are we getting the Badger and not something like the Boxer or Ajax for actual top tier. Something we’ve been jsut as desperate for

I’m curious on all your thoughts.

Do you think the SLM will be playable, or just a static map thing?

Like last year / early this year, we seen a bunch of assets for things like Patriot get leaked, but the general consensus was, these would just end up being static things in air battles or something, but lots of people got hyped assuming they’d add Patriot as a playable thing.

Do you not think it’s kinda plausible that SLM ends up being a similar situation?

I’m just struggling to see how they make a 3 separate vehicle system work I guess.

@Smin1080p_WT I wonder, is there any Progress of the Raytracing for Consoles?
Because the Bugs are getting more and more while the report for it is now since more than 3 Weeks on Info Requested…

yes

I think systems like Patriot and S-300 will 100% be AI targets and not player vehicles, but SLM is just about reasonable enough for introduction I think.

I was guessing 20-25km would be the target ballpark and maybe we’ll see the SLM soft-nerfed somehow to not be quite as extreme as 40km but it is the only way I can see a lot of nations getting anything is by moving the goalpost forward a lot and is the only way I can see of them unnerfing weapon systems like Brimstone.

Other nations can keep pace with the SLM like CAMM-MR for Britain (and maybe Italy?) and the US has the extended range thingy for the SLAMRAAM which would be similar sort of range .

So I dont think its all that unreasonable.

It’s just when I was reading all the stuff about that new Chinese SPAA, and please correct me if I’m wrong (as I know very little about Chinese stuff), but people were saying it could use longer range missiles than what snail gave it in the devblog.

That would suggest that snail, seemingly view Pantsir range and below as a sort of ideal for what they want SPAA to have. At least with Spyder they could limit it to Python-5 to achieve that same range envelope.

But SLM is just going to be massively ahead of everything, which makes me wonder if it’s just going to end up like the Patriot leaks.

super modern stuff, is a lot of stuff that war thunder hasn’t implemented and will require tons of work… if they are sayin 130kmx130km is a limit for map size, missles fly that far alone and missiles being developed that go FURTHER than 130km, there isn’t much engagement in normal matches to allow rewards for players that just get deleted from 100km from the battle field regardless of game mechanics in the game or not.

stealth truly needs to be implemented and not a bug where you can be 300m from target and you won’t see the name tag (a good idea for stealth)…

battles cannot start in firing range for most missiles (besides the few acutal large maps we get) #grandcanon is goat/amazing example for larger maps…

active equipment needs to exist aswell, just a lot of things in general to make very modern stuff actually work…

or we will just get a f35 as example, with aim 9m’s and 120b’s…

super late and not spoken correctly, for free no charge added.

The big question is LOAL.

Because from what I understand. SLM is 25km ish range without supporting the missile.

So 25km isnt all that unreasonable for top tier at the moment.

If we do have some form of LOAL, then it could reach 40km.

Its just tricky.

I assumed SLS was meant for testing IIR in game, but SLM does seem really extreme for that.

I guess the question really comes down to the counter play, or if SLM has multi-vehicle, how that is modeled and if its vulnerable

Fun fact: We already have IIRs in game, the Ty-90 (and even PL-5EII, also, as it uses the same seeker), both are IIR irl. I think there’s technically some more but, yeah.

Gaijin models them the same way they do ever other IRCCM method they don’t feel like modeling, gatewidth + tracking suspension (or just gatewidth in the 5EII’s case).

Fair enough, but still not IRIS-T, ASRAAM, Aim-9X, etc etc

Honestly? I feel like they’re gonna have IIR AAMs use the same things, honestly there’s not much reason to have more advanced IRCCM modeled anyways.
