Bear with me, if SD-10 has reduced range compared to PL-12, and SD-10A has reduced range of PL-12A. Why would SD-10A still have reduced range compared to PL-12 when it is a reduced range version of PL-12A?

IRIS-T SLS doesn’t have datalink at all. That’s only a thing on SLM and in the future SLX and HYDEF. Also, the seeker range on IRIS-T is 25km, so even the SLMs range won’t be halfed by a lack of DL
Only within the sM6 power section, once the SM6 power section ends, it will lag behind PL17

I don’t get this 27ER is out doing 120s??? If it’s the 27EA, ok lets see if it gets added (better be a 120C5 added with it then). Simple reason…vast majority of jets doing BVR with the 120 will reach their optimal launch speed and altitude a good bit before you will. 15E and Euro vs the fastest Flanker with 27ER…anyone with eyes is putting their money on the 15E and Euro.

In fact, SD10 ≠ PL12, and SD-10A ≠PL12A
SD10 was developed much earlier than PL12, but PLAAF did not put it into service and instead used it for foreign trade. In contrast, SD10AIt is the true PL12 foreign trade version.所以SD-10＜PL12，SD-10A≈PL12，PL12A≈PL12AE（Doubtful code: PLAAF has not published any information about the existence of PL12A）

16 and believe me, while it looks decent on paper, it’s no where near close to the ty90
stinger in game are bad, don’t get me wrong, but igla and mistral are basically as bad too, ty90 is the outlier (because of the famous gaijin reasoning they displayed in the manpads article)

It’s still a quick solution, not designed for plane, it has some character that not suit air launching.
PL-17 due to bigger length-diameter ratio, and clean missile body, will have lower drag and better energy.
SM-6’s strake wing is used to help it glide in lower altitude, but not good for high altitude
ballistic flying. Mean while air launch in high altitude provides a much larger start energy(for surface launched, the missile needs all its propellant to just get to this altitude).
you can see AIM-260 has similar character to get a extreme range with smaller missile.
As for R-37M, it’s still based on a very old missile, AIM-54 era thing, will hardly reach true modern missiles, but its good news they are bring back KS-172

Also, these leaks mentioned WW2 bundle packs for US/UK/RU. Presumably they’ll be wanting to put them out sooner rather than later if they’re wanting to do preorders, one would have thunked.
Hope if/when they do those, they put em all in one blog together and not individually across 3 separate days.
