No comment :P
None of the Iowas were converted either, but plans were drawn up for those. Speaking of them, I do think we may see all six of them at some point. Maybe they’ll even add the planned 8"/55 refit, especially since we got Gneisenau with her planned 380s
idk if we will get all 6, I doubt we will see all 5 QE (I assume QE will be our rank 6 premium)
Probably not more than 1 or 2.
So far the only reason we’ve gotten more than 1 of a class is because its come to TT and then Eevnt or premium (HMS Renown and HMS repulse, Scharn and Gne, Hipper and Eugen, Barham and Warspite) and usually in a different fit.
Probably a WW2 Iowa now and a Korean war fit in the future as event or premium (if we get rank VIII naval)
My thought was that there could be three in the TT: Iowa in 45 fit, Missouri in her 80s fit (when we get missile ships), and maybe Kentucky in her BBG configuration. The other three could be events or premiums. Like I said, I wouldn’t mind seeing the proposed 4 x 4 8"/55 armed Illinois conversion myself. Something about having 16 rapid fire 8"/55s on an Iowa hull is very appealing
Thats a big if, and whether a BB with ASMs vs destroyers with ASMs is even remotely fair
Rules can always be changed.
Remember, no jets, no air to air missiles, no FNF weapons, no top rank premiums…
I am going to try and nuke its reload rate. The same should apply to Selvastopol too
100% accurate there.
Or significant components to have been built, though not 100% sure that even applies anymore, since we got one of the 1919 Amagi preliminary designs a couple of patches ago
Reload on the German 38cm guns should be about two rounds a minute. Krupp documents claim reloads of 26 seconds were standard. Speaking of reloads, now that they’re adding in the 16"/50, we have the reload clocks for those, so reports there are 100% easier than the other ships
Which didn’t, and I believe still doesn’t have the correct turrets for her mains.
Yeah, Watch Gne maintain Scharns RoF even with the 15" guns
This is only true of the turrets intended for Bismarck and Tirpitz, they are many hundreds of tonnes heavier and have more power-assistance to maneuver the shells and lift them. The ones for Gneisenau and Selvastopol were lightened to avoid causing too much strain on the ships hull (even the Soviets were not so stupid somehow as to drop a full-weight turret into Selvastopols already weak-ish hull). What was sacrificed was power assistance, meaning most things were hand loaded.
This meant the optimistic RoF was 60 seconds, and in practise the the coastal battery’s which were virtually identical in the auto-loading department (or lack thereof) never achieved a RoF higher than 70 seconds.
Good luck getting a premium they know will sell well being nerfed that much
It’s a hard limitation to at least 40-50 seconds as that’s how long the few autoloaded components are needed. That’s assuming the crew has mastered dimensional manipulation and can teleport shells from the top of the barbette to the breach instantaneously.
They either nuke them which brings me immense happiness to nuke a Scharnhorst class, or they make hard limitations of autoloaders a non-factor. Which means buff all of the US standards’ reload rate and also Rodney etc.
Amagi was laid down
There is a third option.
“its a marketing lie”
I want to see if planes will ever have a bigger impact in naval, rn they seem very unimpactful and frankly worthless. I would love to see more usage for seaplanes to scout out locations of enemy flotillas and the like, much like what you can do in EC
Not until we get stand-off weapons or an AI AAA overhaul.
Ships like Vanguard will be even stronger
