Yeah, pretty different from here in US lol. Looking forward to airshows, watching UH-60’s fly around every so often, and as I’m sure you already know American media involves military quite frequently

You guys need to take some more pride in the MP5 and Leopard 2 imo

tldr nuke shells required

Is there any new info on the F-2A in game?
Is it early, or late service?
Purely historical, or bending reality for balance? (HMS, FLIR Targeting pod)?

Based on datamined model appears to be late I think

It really doesn’t, but it’s more that every time it gets brought it is usually in the context of “hurr-durr US couldn’t even beat little Japan to AESA tech”.

That and it’s the F-15, which is God’s gift to the free world and the best aircraft ever built

Pic related (“no bias trust”…)

Spoiler

If it were the F-16 or F/A-18 I wouldn’t care nearly as much

I mean the F-15 is literally my all time favorite jet so agree there.

But even still the F-2 is still the first aircraft built with AESA in mind from the get go. But again it doesn’t matter.

If they intend for it to be a CAS aircraft it would have to introduce Sniper Pod to my understanding

No.

F-47 has one hell of an air superiority lineage (since MDD now is part of Boeing)

F-15, F-22 (Boeing was involved) and now F-47

And yes, F-15 is greatest jet fighter OAT

Well there was YF-23/YF-22 in 1990

I don’t think anything touches it’s combined feats

Historical capability, but probably with theoretical configurations. In the leak we see MRM rails on stations 5 and 7 (inner hardpoints, usually mounting fuel tanks in service and rarely even seen with anything else), which are in theory possible, but not used in practice.

By the same standard as the loadouts, HMD should be possible. Service F-2s were modified to mount the HMD, and a prototype of the Shimadzu HMD for the F-2 was recently found too, so they have both the capability and existing tech to do it. But there’s no info on what Gaijin will do here.

For the TGP it depends. We could see J/AAQ-2 FLIR pod and/or Sniper pod, both are used on the F-2. Personally I hope we could see both, since they would hve different use cases and functionality, but nothing was confirmed here either.

It would be a crime if they dont add sniper pod. It cant use laser jdams without it and if they dont add ASM-2s then it gets no CAS other then dumb bombs and rockets

And gps jdams would just not be fun

Technically it can, it just cannot use the laser function

Wouldn’t be so fun lol dont really see why they are holding back sniper pod for every one

Honestly an interesting perspective.

From the other side it is more of an attack against FS-X. It’s already been pressured out of the domestic design and into a somewhat restrictive joint project, and even the actually very interesting and distinct F-2 that came out of it is then often reduced to “just an F-16”. So the AESA radar seems to be the one main achievement taken out of it.

So then trying to argue against that, especially from the US side just seems like rubbing salt in the wound.

But however you look at it, this whole argument doesn’t really matter anyways. F-2 is a cool aircraft, F-15 is a cool aircraft, that’s really all that matters.

Fair, we can at least agree on that.

Other things too but tbf AESA is definitely more standout than anything else, I mean look at YF-22/23, Rafale, EFT that all match or exceed in airframe advancement and flight performance

If the F-4E is the M2 of fighter jets the F-15 is, well, the AR-15
