Next Major Update - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion (Part 2)

Japan never bought AIM-9M. They went from AIM-9L to AAM-3 so they never had a need for AIM-9M.

that’s what I’m saying bro

If gaijin wanted it to use an HMD then they should atleast give it the shimadzu one. Although considering there were no images of it on the open internet until I posted one last week, its no surprise it doesn’t have it.

Im not even sure if it’s gonna have an HMD, the only reason it has JHMCS is probably just cause in game japan uses US models for post-war pilots, and the modern US pilot has JHMCS.

idk its a modified F-16 that japan domestically produce in favor for balance(its 14.0 prob) 9Ms would be fine, since if it can fire 9L then 9M can with minimal and feasible modification

It can carry the I-derby SR and ER.
Do note that while the website claims that 8 missiles are ready to launch, only the 4 missile version seems to exist IRL at this time.

It has access to AAM-3 IRL (and as seen in the Teaser), its already in-game on both F-15Js too - AAM-3s are the F-2s historically correct armament and superior to AIM-9Ms.

There is no reason to keep the 9Ms.

hmm well then

Funny how overweight fish tank decoration is thumbnail instead of greatest and most numerous surviving battleship class of all time

trailer bias

Turns out two inches matters quite a lot.

It’s what you can put downrange that really matters

range is not everything. The Pantsir still has a very capeable radar, can fire it’s missiles on the move, is a all in one system and has twin 30mm guns that can be used against ground targets as well.

Also, no somewhat capeable pilot won’t stay in such altitudes where 40km range would matter anyways.
Given the fact that the radar vehicle is the “brain” of the system, GPS guided weaponry will be a strong counter against these SAM systems. Locate the radar vehicle (given the massive size, that shouldn’t be too hard) and send a GPS bomb. done. controlling up to three vehicles at once means that 2 vehicles stand still two thirds of the time, increasing the likelyhood of impact.

The capeability of the IRIS-T sounds intimidating, but the map layout and the general game dynamic will proof pretty soon that these systems won’t be as strong as they look on paper. The reign of the Pantsir and op CAS won’t be over, I’m pretty sure.

Keep in mind that trailers are not representative of the final product, at times it tends to be just for show, and so somethings maybe a place holder… somethings can also still be in development as well and may all ready be known by the time any possible Dev Server drops, and that would be the best time to examine things

you mean i wont know everything about a vehicle from a 20 second clip???
