When technical limitations were mentioned, it reminded me to ask…

Are there any plans to implement dual-plane (bank-to-turn) guidance for missiles in sooner or later?

Missiles like the AIM-54 and Aspide used dual-plane guidance in real life, but are currently modeled with single-plane guidance in the game. As a result, their performance is not accurately represented. These missiles were added years ago, but there has been no visible progress on this issue.

I guess it will be just SL-AMRAAM, Patriot, S-300 should be some kind of SEAD mode thing.
not sure about BUK.

Probably not
Its 2 weeks feom the forst dev blog

That doesn’t indicate that they are player-controlled.

we’ll see

I stay by my guess

It doesn’t indicate that they aren’t, either.

Considering we were talking about playable SPAA earlier, I would argue not knowing is enough to not bother bringing Patriot into the discussion.

well, as Static targets for a future SEAD mode they’re definitely perfectly suited

From what I know, the Buk is Russia’s next step from the Pantsir, and I also expect the SLAMRAAM at least before the Patriot.

BUK is actually weaker than Pantsir. Pantsir for the game mode and map sizes we have is the best SHORAD system in the world. Russia would be better with the Pantsir S2

BUK will struggle to shoot down ordinance but will have a longer range in game than the current Pantsir S1

How so?

Tho the patriots are also used by Germany, Japan, ex-Israel, Sweden as well. Personally i believe they will be playable gaijin themselves said “heavier” SAM systems in the works.

in the Russian air defence Hierarchy yes

but just like S-300 and Patriot it’s a stationary Multi vehicle system, and the ones we’ve seen so far and leaked so far are at least a bit more compact stationary systems

BUK is an older system designed to shoot down aircraft. While it has been modernised with the BUK M3
It’s Radar is not as advanced as Pantsir and it can only have 4 missiles ready to launch

BUK is a medium range system up to 70km but in the closer range 15km engagements we have in game Pantsir is superior

it’s older and made for longer ranges

it’s a Missile that’s not made for short range high mobility but rather for long range and high speed

it’s likely quite inagile

it was a joke

Every nation without FnF SPAA will be worse off, Pantsir S2 or not, a plane is still able to just pop out and launch whatever FnF weapon it has without getting hit by SACLOS munitions, but with FnF at least you have a hope of mutual kills.

Also the S2 missiles that have 40km range don’t have proxy fuses and are supposed to Impact to kill.

the same is true for most older Medium to Long range systems

how good that IRIS-T is coming for sweden…
