Once again, this is understandable but does not however justify coming at a subject that way or approaching questions aimed at staff like that. It will not lead to anything constructive or meaningful when you come in guns blazing making demands when the only possible answers at a given moment in time have been provided.
Let me be very clear that hostility towards staff (not even just me) wont work in any regard.
Almost only Naval and Map devblogs. Thats not interesting for most players.
What we really need to know is about new ground units, expecially the new SPAAs and Missiles. All these BBs are hardly played, Naval is a niche game mode.
But the Falklands map should have been an Air Sim map first and marketed that way, with it being adapted for Air RB and other gamemodes (heck could get a few decent ground and naval maps out of it too with a little effort)
The fact that you cant even confirm for certain that its even going to be added to Air Sim is just a giant concern. Let alone all the other game breaking issues Sim and its playerbase is forced to deal with constantly (and many have been reported many many times over the years)
Suffice to say, I have some dev-server threads to write
my reaction when i make a bug report relating to air sim and then it gets “accepted” for another few months because, obviously there are more important things and/or the bug is so complex its impossible to fix obviously ( g91ys cockpit still lacking CCIP markings, F-8E (fr, maybe us) still missing cockpit eegs, etc ) :^)
im not trying to be hostile towards anyone, after using the bug reporting site for quite a while now, i have a feeling that its useless to try to report air sim related bugs on it, since it takes ages for them to get fixed, even if the fix is as simple as adding a gyro ability to a sight to give it ccip or copy pasting the eegs code from one plane to another
ah … Kuban
Remember watching Baron play the Pz.IV E on it during ground beta… and it instantly sold me
downloaded WT few months later.
:') … WT Kuban & Karelia maps are abit emotional for me
That may be true but it sure doesn’t feel that way, especially when it comes to affecting Sim.
I started a thread back in January collecting Sim related reports for aircraft such as issues with their HUD’s, MFD’s, HMD’s, VR issues, cockpit issues, and the amount of issues that has been fixed from all of those is awful. There’s well over 100 reports and only a handful have actually been fixed.
Obviously not every report will get fixed immediately but it does make reporting issues feel useless when issues have been going on for years without so much as your report being accepted.
That’s how I feel. Was making a report for the Detroit Diesel 6V53T engine noise, but scrapped it because I was looking at all the other ones around for years and have yet to be touched. Same with making suggestions for ground. Hundreds of suggestions have been made but we are lucky if a nation even receives even just 2 vehicles (that aren’t just copy paste).
that doesnt change the fact that most times when you report a bug, it seems like its just forgotten about, with no updates on the bug being made.
lets take this bug report for example:
(Community Bug Reporting System)
Reported 3 years ago
Forwarded for review 8 months ago
not only, the bug has existed for minimum of 3 years, after 2 years and 4 months, you get a response “forwarded for a review” and a silence for another 8+ months. Do you think if the same person will find a bug, will look at the first report, which after 3 years and still havent been fixed, will go and report another one? no, they will probably think its just a waste of time.
Not to mention, the literal fix is just to add a line in the skin BLK, adding a gyro sight. To add to that, the opposite is literally possible for everyone to do, ad a still sight to a gyro sight with the use of .blk in custom skins.
but i guess we need to learn to be happy with what we have - a half working sim mode with bugs, which can be dropped at any moment because aces of thunder is around the corner and noone can asure us if the mode will stay or not.
