Given we dont have additions like
County-Class destroyer

Type 21
Type 22
etc etc
yet, I doubt theyd jump to the Type 42 anytime soon and there would be a logical set of ships to come first. County-Class and Type 141 being of perticular note because they didnt have ASMs in their initial fits and both had 2x twin 4.5" guns making them fairly reasonable additions anytime, but would add SAMs.
Players have been complaining about CAS constantly for years. Buffing it right after adding a counter would be pretty evil

Even minor things, like giving the Typhoon SAL Brismtone 2s instead of Brimstone 1s (which would actually be a historically accurate loadout) would be required. Maybe also GPS-Guided Spear-3s for a little standoff
I cannot imagine how you would engage anything with a 20km SAL weapon when something has a 40km death sphere
Well, a little challenge for CAS players wouldn’t be so bad I think :p
Just like SPAAs had to figure out how to engage something that can quite handily kill them.
Its hard enough dealing with Pantsirs in the Typhoon, let alone stuff weaker than the Typhoon like a Tornado Gr4.
So I think CAS at the bare minimum need a chance to fight back ,even if thats just GPS-Only weapons like adding Spear-3s to the Typhoon.
(and on a personal note, I dont really give much of a crap about GRB, but I want historically accurate loadouts for aircraft like the Tornado Gr4 for use in ASB, but its denied because of GRB balance, so if adding the IRIS-T SLM enables MMW to be added, then great, I can finally have MMW for ASB)

Just my opinion but isn’t 18 brimstones a bit too much? I don’t know their performance of course, so if they’re bad (besides the fact that they are quite limited right now) then I’d partially understand it.
I’m of the opinion that CAS should be one of the hardest things to do in that game mode because it is ground focused. So someone wanting to CAS needs to use varied tactics to get a successful hit. Not free reign to launch their payloads from orbit or at range and then RTB

I couldnt care less about GRB or the state of CAS at the moment, Top tier tanks are so badly balanced that unless you are in the top 3 tanks, you might as well not even bother playing top tier.
I want aircraft like the Tornado Gr4 and Typhoon to have some of their IRL performance for other gamemodes like ASB.
I know, shock horror, there are other gamemodes to GRB in War Thunder

Again, I dont entirely disagree, though if we have Su-30s firing KH-38MT or F-15E, Gripen C, F-16, etc etc firing GBU-39s from beyond the range of an IRIS-T SLM. Then I dont think its unreasonble to ask for the Typhoon to have something similar.
Its already artificially nerfed rather massively for "reasons " so a GPS gudied stand off weapon I think its a bare minimum ask and would be great fun for ASB
